This occurred about a month ago at the local Barnes and Noble Bookstore. There was a so called "Christian woman", who was getting really angry at the management of the store. The reason for her anger was rather bigoted, at the very least.

She was in the aisle containing the religious section of books and became angered when she saw book representing ALL religions on the same shelf. This included books on Judaism, Wicca, Hinduism, and Paganism. She practically demanded the "Christian" books have their own section as she felt the others weren't real religions. What a bigot, and what a looser!

This is another perfect example of the Christian control freaks.

She just sounds like a member of one the extreme fundamentalist groups that are around. I think most Christians are able to acknowledge other religions. Heck, at the library, I never even have Christians (or people inother religions) object to the fact that Greek, Roman, Norse, and other mythologies are shelved in the same area.

bunni,

You might right on that. These are the ones who are the LOUDEST where ever they present themselves.

I have to agree with Bunnicula. There are those that are EXTREME Christian right. I had to go to the library for my dad, he wanted a book on the Catholic saints, and everything was lumped in the 'Religion' Section, Islam, Judaism, Wicca, Christianity, etc. Doesn't bother me.

It doesn't bother me either. Back when I carried books in our store, I did the same thing.

I did lose a customer once because I sorted some of the 'Left Behind' books into our Science Fiction section. I really don't see how you can call those things religious... They may be BASED on Revelations, but they're purely fictional.

Ah well... It was probably a good thing they didn't see where I put the Mythology books

Yeager said: "True Americans do not exclude anybody."

However, technically speaking, being a "True Christian" is more important to some people than being a "True American." You just have to consider that people do have different priorities, and sometimes, tolerance is lower on the list than other things.

LOL, putting them in Sci Fi, sorry that made me laugh. I couldn't get through the 2nd chapter of the first book. Yes, they are pure fiction, and to a degree I would rate them 'science fiction', and yes I am a Christian. I even rented the movie and thought, ok, finally they are going to make a 'good' Christian movie, still seemed pretty low budget to me. JMO
But, with The Passion, now that was not a 'B' or low budget, and hope Gibson makes more.

It was said he would make more films of the Life of Christ, as according to the Gospels.
