Although I have to work this Sunday, other than that I'm not going to do much other than lean back & watch DVDs
Last night I watched "Taste the Blood of Dracula," a Hammer film that just came in the mail after I bought it on eBay.
Tonight I started in on the first season of "Have Gun Will Travel." I used to watch this show when I was little and always had fond memories of it. After watching four episodes (1/2 of the first disc), I've discovered that it deserved those fond memories. Richard Boone is outstanding, and the guest stars on the show were great, too.
Don't know if I'll be able to see all six discs this weekend, though. I also want to watch another eBay purchase, so I can leave feedback for the seller: "Deterrence," starring Kevin Pollack. I rented it a couple of years ago & loved it--he plays a president who's forced by a freak snow storm to hole up at a roadside cafe, along with his secret service agents and the soldier attached to the "football." While he's there, an international incident comes to a head and he's forced to make the decision of whether to authorize nuclear force or not, leading to tension with the townsfolk also trapped in the cafe, and even his own staff.
Bliss! Popcorn & DVDs... Wish I didn't have to work Sunday, though, darn it.

My weekend DVD marathon consists of the original version of The Italian Job, Owning Mahonney, Vin Diesel in A Man Apart (I admit it - I have a thing for drug cartel and organized crime movies), Home Room (low brow high school shooting aftermath - why did I rent this?),Law & Order Criminal Intent Season 1 and if I can sit down for and not do anything else, a spanish movie called All About My Mother.
Since I usually watch DVDs while I work on the computer, watching spanish movies is presents a problem since I still need to follow the subtitles to get all of the dialog.
(BTW - the soundtrack on Italian job is quickly getting on my nerves - not sure I am going to make it thru this one)

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

You two are so lucky that you only have Ebay to contend with when you plan your weekend pleasure. How about a husband who doesn't enjoy videos? Instead of videos, I'll be reading the New York Times "May Discussion Book", Random Family by Adrian Nicole Leblanc -- not a novel but a sociological account of the drug culture in the Bronx and how poverty and family circumstances affect life choices there.
So, I'll be reading and listening to CNN while I work on the computer.

Mine enjoys bike marathons at about 30 mph. I don't. I enjoy leisurely bike rides. He does his thing, I do mine. We meet when he's finished exhausting himself. Or, the thing I like doing instead, I sit at home watching movies while he goes riding for hours on end. Suits me.

I remember "Have Gun Will Travel", Bunni! I bet it brings you back to the time when you first watched the shows. Do you remember Bat Masterson or Wagontrain, or the one with Chuck Connery in it with his son that called him "paw" all the time and cried in almost every scene? Those were the days!!
P.S. Helen, popcorn is loaded with fibre. If you're ever sick, popcorn is one of the best foods to eat to clean out your system. (Just thought I'd clue you in!)
I think that one that you are talking about is Rifleman. I think his name was Chuck Connors. I don't recall his character name, but I think the sons name was Luke.
I remember one episode where Paw was cleaning his rifle and Luke said, Paw, whatca doing? Luke I am acleaning my gun so it will shoot better. Luke asked, why ya doin that Paw? He said, case we come across any right wingers that try to convert us.

Finished the first disc in the set. Heaven! I went to a writer's group meeting this morning and just got back, so I plan to watch more "Have Gun Will Travel" this afternoon, plut "Deterrence." I will follow this with "In a Lonely Place" with Humphrey Bogart and "Dracula Has Risen From the Grave," another Hammer film I recetnly bought.
Kraft: Yes, I also watched "Bat Masterson," "Wagon Train" & "Rifleman" (that's the Chuck Connors show you mentioned).
I also used towatch another Chuck Connors series as a kid: "Branded." Not to mention "The Virginian," "Bonanza," and the "Cisco Kid." Used to love those westerns!!!
