everything. Kerry a Packers fan? What kind of wishy washy is this. I can't believe he believes that kind of crap because we all know the Packers will beat Washington. This is a no brainer. This is an insult to Packers fans througout the country to include this nonsense in his speech. At least he didn't give his speech in the hallowed halls of Lambeau Field.

Kerry Uses Packers To Stir Up Green Bay Crowd
Democratic Presidential Candidate Focuses On National Security

POSTED: 11:15 am EDT May 28, 2004

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry is in Green Bay Friday for just the second time since securing the nomination.

He arrived Thursday night for a rally of about 2,000 across the street from Lambeau Field.

Kerry's visit is part of an 11-day tour focusing on national security.

Kerry said Thursday that Americans face greater dangers because of the Bush administration's mishandling of Iraq.

He vowed, if elected president, he would "never let ideology trump the truth."

Kerry also said working with other countries is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength.

Kerry said for the past eight presidential elections, if the Washington Redskins lose the Sunday before Election Day, then so does the incumbent candidate.
The Packers play the Redskins this fall.

"No matter what it means to the New England Patriots; no matter what it means to the future of the NFL. On Oct. 31; when the Redskins play against the Pack, you are looking at the biggest cheesehead in America, right here. Here I am. Go Pack," Kerry said.

Friday Kerry will hold a town hall meeting at the National Railroad Museum in Ashwaubenon.

Well, the one thing he proved beyond a shadown of a doubt is that he does not know squat about football. The result of the Packer v Redskin game will have no effect whatsoever on the Patriots. They are NFC teams, the Pats are AFC.

Is the superbowl game a NFC team against an
AFC? I don't know football - I'm just trying to figure out if there was any bit of logical thought in that comment about the Patriots.

Cherished - yeah - Superbowl is NFC champion vs AFC champion but in October the only thing you are worried about is how other teams in your division are doing and how their win loss schedule effects your standing in the division. In oherwords... there was no logic in the way he made the statement

I love when people take the time to come up with those kind of crazy stats though and the though t of somepne rooting for a game asnthough the election results depend on it cracks me up.

Yes the Patriots meant something. Kerry is from Mass. and so are the Patriots so I am guessing that he is a Patriots fan, but for October 31 he will be a Cheesehead. Reason:
Kerry said for the past eight presidential elections, if the Washington Redskins lose the Sunday before Election Day, then so does the incumbent candidate.
The Packers play the Redskins this fall on Oct. 31. He is hoping that the Packers will win, but that isn't a given...as us in Packerland know.

Wow! who every is his statistician they had to dig deep for that one.

I hope that is clear..................

Libra - I understand all that however his statement. "No matter what it means to the New England Patriots... shows a lack of knowledge regarding the workings of the NFL as the results of an NFC vs NFC game will have no result whatsever on an AFC team.

What a silly concern.

I think that it's more important that we all know that we are not "fighting for our freedom" in Iraq as was mentioned by Libra in the other thread.

It has nothing to do with the AFC NFC or anything it has to do with a stupid football game that is going to be played on Oct 31, 4 days before the presidential election. For the past 8 presidential elections the Washington Redskins have played in the game just prior to the election day and it doesn't matter who they played they got beat. It just so happens the Packers play the Redskins on that day so Kerry is depending on the Packers to defeat the Washington Redskins so that if the prediction rings true he will be elected. Dumb theory.

The New England Patriots (AFC) Have nothing to do with it except Kerry being a Patriot fan hopes they (patriots) don't get upset because he is doing a flip flop and cheer for the Packers(NFC)on that day.

Who shows the lack of knowledge of the NFL it has to be Kerry because I know it is not me. BTW, In the overall standings all games played during the season whether NFC or AFC have an effect on the outcome whether they go to the playoffs or not.

Well evidently Kerry is concerned or he wouldn't have had the research done.

Yes Cherishedclutter the NFC does play the AFC in the Superbowl.

Packers(NFC) beat the Patriots(AFC) in Superbowl 31 and in Superbowl 32 Denver(AFC) beat the Packers(NFC)

Well I'll be, and here I could have sworn that is what I said in my very first post

I swear you are like a blind pitbull. Even when someone agrees with you, you attack just because they came close. Enjoy yourself.

Again you come in and insult me. Who are you to do that. If you can't understand what Kerry meant than I will never be able to explain it. I know you know a lot about football and any other subject that comes to this round table and it shows in your posts. You seem to have some silly answer about everything. Well it is your candidate that said that and if you can't understand what he meant well that's your problem. I don't want him rooting for the Packers as the Packers are a class organization unlike Kerry. Remember there are two sides to every story and you seem not to understand that. You try and push your agenda and I for one don't like it. Find someone else to insult and see what they have to say.

Oh good god Libra - are you that desperate to find a conflict with me that you are incapable of understanding that I got a kick out of the stat and was able to poke a little fun at the irrelevence of Patriots statement too?

I have a clear understanding of football and I hate to break the news to you but I am also a long time fan of the Packers.

I'm dying to know what agenda you thought I was pushing.

BTW - Do you know what other piece of football history the Packers and 'Skins share?

You know fennix I am not playing your games anymore. This is not a question and answer thread. It was an informational speech by your candidate Kerry.

You say one thing and it has two meanings. I answer to one of the meanings and of course I am wrong. Get a life as you would say to me. My life is almost over but I am not going to spend it in here debating. lol that sure is the wrong word.

I have an idea for you. But I will keep it to myself as you will have some smart comment to make about that. I am not a vendictive person. I get along with most everyone whether Democrate or Republican. Black or White, young or old but it seems like everything I post you have either done or are doing it or you critize. I honestly don't care if you are a Packers fan you can be anything you want but I am not going to play your games. It has been said we have to be thicked skin to come in here. Why because people have different opinions. That's what the world is all about but when insults are thrown around it is different. Why in the world can't a debate be something useful instead of name calling or telling someone they forgot to take their meds. I guess I don't understand the reasoning behind all the insults in this Round Table. Maybe someone can explain it, I sure can't.
