Helen.. it hurts, can I get down yet?LOL
If I may be serious for just a minute or two..
I have been accused of "Sitting on the Fence" by some and have been defended by others for keeping my choices to myself..
The truth is ..I have been on the fence....
I am struggling this election. I have always been a staunch/stanch Democrat.. but this election.. I admit I am waffling..
The Party Lines have blurred and I find myself not in total agreement with either Party on all issues..
Then add to this..the choice of leadership..
on one hand... I dislike and mistrust President Bush..as we say here in the South.."with a purple passion"....
but.........I am not impressed with John Kerry either.. In past elections I was clear on my choices..this time around I'm still voting Democrat.. but less enthusiastically.
Is anyone else struggling with their decision this election..? Maggie

NO! Bush is a lying, sneaky, nasty, egotistical, war evading, cowardly, two faced, ignorant, illiterate, slime bag!

Okay.. I hear you Crow.. LOL.. and I agree with you about Bush.. I guess he is still the best reason to vote Democrat.. but I don't feel enthusiasm for Kerry.. so I will vote for my party and hope he will grow on me. I just haven't made the connection with him yet. mm

Missed your meds today did you crow.

Maggie, IF...IF I were a woman I'd think making a "connection" with Edwards would be more fun!
Seriously, I know what you mean so I'm trying to see behind the rather imposing (but Presidential) face and find the heart of the man.
I admit that I know more about his wife but that's a good thing.....he must have something going for him if he chose HER and GOT her!

Bear, in the words of your dignified, intelligent Vice-President (and acting president) DICK Cheney....go F#@* yourself!
Oh, Cheney's right ...it needed to be said and I feel so much better!

I'm not struggling here at all. Bush is a liar, a cheat, a thief, a hypocrit, a . . . . guess I don't need to go on. I don't see Kerry's changing positions on issues as all that awful. I see it as being flexible and having the ability to see all sides and maybe coming to the realization that what he at first thought was the right thing, may not have been at all. I change my mind sometimes on some issues once I have talked to people and have seen the other side. If I didn't, I'd consider myself one-sided and stiff. There is one thing I will not change my mind on and that's how I feel about Bush as both president and a man. And, I will not now or ever vote Republican. It's just not who I am.
DJK. I'd like to see him run for governor of Ohio first, though. We really need to lose our governor. As if gas prices weren't high enough, he just approved a gas tax hike. Our gas is now up to almost $2 a gallon again and it looks like, thanks to him, that's where it will stay.
Actually, the only president we've had in a long time that I really liked was Clinton. We had a succession of real losers before him. Even though he was a Democrat, I'm including Johnson in that list of losers!

ROFLMAO....I wondered when someone would see my bum and call me a Brit!! LOL
I didn't think it was going to be you Crow!
No, not a Brit.. and to be honest... I take that as an insult..I lived in close quarters with a group of Brits for a year in Nigeria.. and found them to be the most obnoxious people, next to the French, that I have ever met..of course, they didn't think much of Americans either. Well there I go again.. being Politically Correct.. knocked the Brits and French in one fell swoop!

Bloody hell, Maggie, you've read the posts in here and you think the Brits and French are obnoxious??????????
Proves once again...no country has that market cornered!
I'm an Anglophile, don't watch much American TV but lots of BBC. I truly believe England is populated by charming people in quaint little cottages nestled in rolling hills where a murder occurs every once in a while and is solved by a woman with a cat..
I also believe trolls live in a big tree in my yard.

Well.. at least you didn't suspect me of being a British Troll up in your tree!
I too was all enamored with the Brits until I had to live with them.. I probably shouldn't judge all Brits on the behavior of those few, and the mode of living while in Nigeria had a lot to do with it..
We all had domestic help in our homes, cook, house keeper, yardman, driver, guards etc. Well.. the Brits took the roll of Lord and Master a little to seriously.. They were down right mean and nasty to them. I was very uncomfortable with their behavior. Of course.. being the shy, timid type..lol..NOT.. I had to speak my mind and that didn't sit well with them at all..
Now, while touring England.. I never had a problem..
Frenchmen don't mean to be obnoxious.. they just are. The French in Canada are not as obnoxious as the French from France..LOL
HA..How to win friends and influence people.. I'm kind of obnoxious myself..Lol
It ticked me off when they took Eastenders off of BBC America.. watched it for years and then they zapped it..
Well back to my book.. I am reading another good Kellerman mystery. MM

My dirty little secret, I vote non-incumbent. Don't let them get comfortable, keep the pot stirred. I also have a tendency to back responsible moderate liberals, such as Senator Diane Feinstein. Although I grimace when I vote for her. I made an exception for RR, he had a vision that took eight years.....

No struggle here...any ambivalence I may feel for Kerry is outweighed by my distaste for Bush, and particularly for those who send commands into his teeny brain.
edited to add "for Kerry"

Maggie, Since the days of John Kennedy, I have always supported the American middle and working class people. Why, because I believe in them and in my view the middle and working class truly love this country. History shows the middle and working class people built this country and fought and died for it. I really hope and pray if John Kerry and John Edwards wins this election they don't forget who got them there. Like you and I plus millions of other people. I have reservations about Kerry and the democrats, but I am also willing to give Kerry and Edwards a chance.

Bigpeepa..thank you for your honesty.
Considering the alternative...we really don't have a choice. My uncertainty about John Kerry does not compare to my fear and dread of another four years with Bush.
Hi Crow.. yes I remember To the manor born and I think Fawlty Towers is still on re-run from time to time. I don't remember Good Neighbors. I used to enjoy Keeping up Appearances and Coronation Street too. Then there is Masterpiece Theater on PBS.. another good one.
We are known as "oil Field Trash, with Class" LOL.. Work over in Nigeria was oil related... it was quite an experience...one that I don't ever wish to repeat. MM

Poor crowbait, if you weren't so despicable you might be funny.

Bear why am I despicable.....geeez don't hate me 'cause I can think and you can only do bumper stickers!
Go stick your nose back in the cow pies you love so much.
Ya know bear, you'd could actually learn something if you'd quit listening to those two big whores, Ann and Rush. Then maybe you could think of something better to write in your posts besides that tired old "crowbait".....you're worse than insulting or nasty....you're booorrrrring!
