Man Jailed for Shooting Off His Testicles

LONDON (Reuters) - A British man who accidentally shot himself in the testicles after drinking 15 pints of beer was jailed for five years on Tuesday for possessing an illegal firearm, a court spokesman said.
David Walker, 28, was arguing with a friend at a pub in South Yorkshire, northern England, when he went home to get his sawed-off shotgun, which he jammed into his trousers.
But as he walked back to the pub, the gun went off, blasting pellets into his testicles. Doctors later removed what remained of his testicles during emergency surgery.
Walker admitted possessing a prohibited weapon at a hearing in June at the court in Sheffield.

We actually had a "down-stater" in the area for deer season do that in our local pub about 5 years ago. He was sitting on a bar stool when his handgun discharged, shooting one of his marbles off. He didn't go to jail, as he had a permit to carry a concealed weapon. He did have to pay a few fines for discharging a firearm in the borough limits, and a few other things, I recall. The bar saved the seat and plan on mounting it with his photo someday.
I had forgotten about that! Boy, did we laugh about that!

When I read this, I thought they should give this poor schmuck a suspended sentence. After all, hasn't he been punished enough?
He shot off his testicles. His name & where he lives has been published so that the entire world knows who he is and that he's now a eunich--not to mention laughing at him. And since men generally think their identity as men begins & ends with their private parts, he's going to face big-time psychological scarring. Personally, I don't think he needs jail time to know just how stupid he's been...
