Kerry recently stated that he was too busy to attend the most recent National Security advisory meeting.
The one that had Daschle so worried.

And we know he's missed voting on 80% of the bills up before the Senate this year.

The people of Mass. are complaining...and have been asking for him to resign his Senate seat so someone CAN represent them.

And then there are those who were so opposed to President Bush taking 'working' vacations when he first was in office.

Currently we find kerry has taken another week off the campaign trail....and is enjoy his time by the sea.

Who needs to find time for security briefings when you're having this much fun?

Yawn. More of Bear's usual.

Funny how the only ones saying this are Drudge and the usual right-wing blogs that pick up and carry crap like this. And Drudge is known for spreading rumors like this, then quietly tip-toeing away from it later.

FoxNews, Cnn, Reuters, etc. etc. etc. would be sure to pounce on such a thing....but whaddayaknow: not a peep.

You are but ONE person from MA, and obviously don't speak for the thousands that have been reported are VERY upset that kerry has missed so many votes. He was elected to represent THEM. He has drawn a salary for the past [almost] two years....without doing the job he was elected to do.

Now...he's too busy campaigning/fund raising to bother with getting briefed on National security.

We'll let Americans decide which they think is more important to THEM.

Linda, while you're having another little tantrum.... and since you've dragged my name into this I will answer.

I'm not talking about the above article but I know that you sometimes C & P articles from sites (like the one owned by Sun Myung Moon) that selectively leave out relevant statements so there is a certain bias to the article. And sometimes you C & P articles and YOU deliberately leave out pertinent information so it suits your slant.

I know this because I sometimes google the info and read it on several other sites and see the "missing info".

You also bold much of it because you assume the rest of us are just little dummies who have problems comprehending but we're smarter than you think! I'm not the only one that notices your little tricks.

kiara - I brought your name into it because you, along with bigpeepa, you have also tried to discredit my posts. I've been here too long to have you or anyone else imply I am doing something inappropriate or underhanded. You are the one's proven wrong when you've made such accusations. The egg is on your face.

Whenever I make a copy and paste I always state my source, sometimes I link. Anyone who wishes can go there and read what the whole article says. I use whatever parts I think are relevant to the point I'm making. I do not find it necessary to post the other sides opinion should it be mentioned in an article. I post what my side is presenting.

Point is....whatever I choose to post [c&p] is not in anyway a lie, or a mistatement or an untruth...as YOU have tried to imply. It's what I've used to back up my position. Now...you don't agree with that position...I have no problem with that. But hitting at my credibility is a totally different issue. So....next time, before you make an accusation...back it up with proof that I've left something out. I hadn't when YOU said I had...and I haven't when bigpeepa said I did.

You're beginning to look untrustworthy to me.

EGGSactly what I said, Linda_K. You or your source deliberately leave out relevant info so it puts a different slant on the article to suit your agenda. Often it's not the way the article was originally written to convey a certain message, that's why it's best for others to read the full article instead of relying on your bias.

Some tips for new posters...

When you read cut and pastes, try reading the parts of the article that are NOT bolded. Check the source and compare the article posted to the actual article that is hopefully linked. If there is no link, you can sometimes locate the article by choosing the title or a few significant words,,,,paste them in google and you may find the article that way. Another good tip is to search the topic in google news so that you can read it from the viewpoint of at least two other writers.

kiara -

My posts are reflective of the point I'm making. The parts I leave out do NOT change the point I'm making when I paste them. I do not paste part of an article and then erase part of it. I post the section that supports my statements. Hope that is NOW clear. If not...too bad. I'm tired of your harassment.

You can keep making insinuations all day long - keep challenging me on every post I make and I will prove you wrong time and time again.

You DO have egg on your face. You said I 'left out xxx [this part' of an article], [b]when I had posted the WHOLE article. You were WRONG....

Same with bigpeepa....he said I left out part of the article I referenced even though I said in my post FULL ARTICLE....trying to be clear on that FACT. He was also WRONG.

Maybe you and bigpeepa could go back to counting the number of posts I make since that appears to keep you both so well entertained.

On both of the articles I posted, I posted the full article. That is what we are discussing here.

The fact that on a different link...or a show of any kind...does not change the fact that I was not lying as you both have said.

If you watched the King show, bigpeepa, you could have EASILY come on and posted what kerry continue to say....in trying to excuse his lack of concern for a National Security issue.
Did you? No...you come on and start with the BS of saying I'm doing something I'm not.

This illustrates why it's necessary to read the entire transcript or as bigpeepa did...listen to it.

A few quotes taken out by Drudge or some other biased reporter can change the entire meaning. It's done deliberately, of course.

THIS IS LINDA'S VERSION

In an appearance on CNN's ``Larry King Live创 on Thursday night, Kerry was asked about the warning, earlier that day, that al-Qaeda was planning a large-scale attack on the United States to disrupt the upcoming political conventions and the election.

A few hours later, he attended the star-studded fund-raiser.

THIS IS THE COMPLETE VERSION

Let's get to, first thing's first, news of the day. Tom Ridge warned today about al Qaeda plans of a large-scale attack on the United States, didn't increase the -- do you see any politics in this? What's your reaction?

KERRY: Well, I haven't been briefed yet, Larry. They have offered to brief me; I just haven't had time. But all Americans are united in our efforts to defeat terrorism.

I believe that John Edwards and I can wage a far more effective war on terror than George Bush has. I think we can do a better job of making America safe. But in these days ahead, we all join together no matter what.

KING: So, you don't question the timing of this? Some are.

KERRY: It's not for me to do. I think that what's important is for the terrorists to understand that I and John Edwards will wage, using every tool available to us, the most effective war possible against terrorism.

KING: When do you get...

KERRY: And they -- the American people are going to decide this race, not terrorists. And they need to know that.

KING: When do you -- when do you get your briefing?

KERRY: We're arranging it. It's at the end of the week I'll get it.

KING: Should be pretty soon. KERRY: I think it's tomorrow or the next day.

KING: And as for the vice president, he gets one, as well, right?

KERRY: I hope he will. It's presumed.

Problem is hard-headed helen....the point was I was accused of NOT posting the whole article. Which was a lie....both times...by kiara and by bigpeepa.

And the fact remains....that kerry was busy flying all over the nation, campaigning, the week that the Senate was giving private security announcements.

And the fact is on 7-8 kerry thought it was more important to be at a Bon Jovi fundraiser than to head his little jet back to DC to be updated on these serious alerts.

Those....are the facts.
Trying to 'shoot' the messenger is silly.

Now, granted, I wouldn't presume that they really meant ALL people in MA, but in this predominantly Democratic (i.e., wacko, liberal) state, there is certainly no enormous groundswell against his record of attendance.

FYI, I'm not a Kerry supporter. He wasn't even on my radar until his candidacy.

Linda, it appears that you are the stubborn and bullheaded one here. You STILL cannot see after I posted your comment and then the actual interview that you not only failed to post "the whole" interview but that your story was slanted and distorted as a result of that along with biased quotes. That's exactly why I have no interest in discussing anything with you anymore. Your information is unreliable and you don't respond to questions or requests for back up. If you can't see that, I can't help. Right now, there are four people who are pointing this out but you refuse to see it.

When you see an excerpt from an interview you should read the entire interview. Otherwise, although the excerpt may be slanted in your direction it could be a lie.

Oh helen [sigh]...our precious drama queen.

My first post said:

Kerry recently stated that he was too busy to attend the most recent National Security advisory meeting.
[i]The one that had Daschle so worried[i].

And that was true.

In my second statement on this subject....using a different source for my proof, it said:

Sen. John F. Kerry [related, bio] told an interviewer he had been too busy to receive a national security briefing on the threat of an imminent terrorist attack on the United States, and then went to a celebrity-packed fund-raising concert at Radio City Music Hall.

Which is also true.

No lying going on by me. Which can be verified by the transcript YOU posted....quoting kerry himself.

No...they had wanted to brief him....but he was too busy.

Then the question is busy doing what exactly?

Answer - campaigning....at a Bon Jovi concert.

If doing a fund raiser is more important to you than a candidate who wants to be President of our nation being briefed on a urgent National Security problem....that of course, is your choice.

I find his lack of interest that whole week...in all the security briefings that were being held....where he was also absent....to be VERY telling.

I think one might even be able to say that reading kerry's statements show at that time he lacked even having thought of when he would be briefed. "maybe next week"? But when pushed, "maybe in a day or so". I'd wonder if he's ever made it back for the briefing as of today.

It wasn't a priority for him....that's the bottom line.

Now.....continue with your drama if you must....doesn't change the facts.

But I do think it was a good try.
