That was a short vacation LOL! I really did have a couple drinks on Friday? and with the heat it hit me, sorry!

But we did go for the weekend, had to get away.

12, on the other thread I started, I was messing, I always was going to vote Bush, but I did watch the Dem convention, most of it (I said *most*) reminded me of a rock concert

anyway... Mike smokes (he's so bad) I would never (yeah right )
on the new Marlboros, theres a little insert in the pack, called Outwit the West, with a question.

Here (if your still with me so far)

Q. A good cup of coffee does the trick first thing in the morning. But Cowboy Coffee is made with something special. What's the secret ingredient?

I knew this one, anyone else?

Egg shells & a dash of salt.

When we camp, we put eggshells in the coffeepot.

I put a dash of salt in my grounds every morning.....takes the bitterness out. One of the many things I learned from my mother.

The egg shells are a way to help clarify the coffee....supposedly pull all the sediments and grounds to the bottom. We make "cafe de la bolsa", bag coffee, also sometimes called Cafe Calcetin, coffee from a sock... the coffee is put into a cloth bag that is suspended from a wire loop with a handle...looks sort of like a fish net only cloth....the handle rests atop the pot, the bag and coffee suspended in the almost boiling water for as long as you want it strong. No sediment, nice clear, strong camp coffee that doesn't have to be strained thru your teeth..You should be able to find bolsas para cafe at latino markets if you want to try it...my nana and mom made all of ours out of coat hangers and bleached Blue Bird Flour sacks...they've both been gone some years, but the coffee bags are doing fine...

Hey yellowstone, ok why is the one sitting in the middle the real cowboy...... (not sure I want to know LOL)

That reminds me, I need to go camping before summer is over! That's it, I'm going to! ------going now to go make reservations at the Shilo at Ocean Shores

This is the way that I have always heard it said ever since I was a little Cowboy; The one sitting in the middle doesn't have to do any work, he doesn't have to drive the truck and he doesn't have to open or close any gates, all he has to do is to just sit there listening to the radio, relaxing and sipping his beer. I think it actually comes from an old movie and I think it was Hud with Paul Newman.

Ed to add; Just so's ya'll don't think that I am totally FOS, I found this song by Michael Martin Murphy that mentions what I am saying about the real cowboy. It's down towards the bottom of the song.

Enjoy
