HONOLULU (AP) -- The nation's largest association of psychologists is backing same-sex marriage. The American Psychological Association's Council of Representatives made its support official Wednesday, the first day of the group's annual convention in Waikiki. The council also expressed opposition to discrimination against lesbian and gay parents.
It also found same-sex and heterosexual couples remarkably similar, and parenting effectiveness and children's psychological well-being unrelated to parental sexual orientation.
The positions, drawn up by the APA Working Group on Same-Sex Families and Relationships, are meant to guide psychologists in the public debate over civil marriage for same-sex couples.
"In the context of the huge social and political debate that is currently going on, APA and psychologists had to grapple with the issue of what psychology believes is in the public interest in this controversy," said Armand R. Cerbone, a Chicago psychologist who chaired the working group.
The seven-member working group based its recommendations on research into same-sex relationships and families.
The Washington-base APA has more than 150,000 members, including researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students.

I would believe the American Psychological Association's Council of Representatives or any other psychological group over any group supported by Twelve. Those groups have no scientific or pshycological proof what so ever.

It should be called the bigoted right for an obvious reason.
Twelve,
Let's see. Here we have the APA, an association of educated professionals who support the gay marriage issue. After great amounts of study, research and observation, they make their position known. Many have been licensed to practice medicine in the state when they live. Many have Master's Degrees in Psychology, Social Work, and related fields or are students who are involved in these fields of study. Their position is based on the study of human behavior and does not involve human emotion or religious beliefs. So for all purposes, they are neutral on the issue. They have also taken homosexuality off the list of mental illnesses over three decades ago.
According to you, Homosexuality is a choice that can be corrected...
According to the APA, it's not an illness and doesn't need to be fixed!
Now we have the APA, a group with more than 150,000 members, including researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students.
Then we have you. A crude disgruntled, woman hating, homophobic. Here are a few of your words.
...and your point is? I have never denied being misogynistic... doesn't bother me one bit..
Homosexuality is wrong, it is a choice that people make and now are trying to force that choice on everyone else.
most men who don't recognize a feminazis are the ones who have to ask those same women to let them have their balls back once in awhile just to make sure they are still men..
Do I need to present anything more??

Twelve says,
Money talking nothing else...
Pure BS
What does that mean? I am not sure that I understand this comment. Where was money mentioned in this?

Yeah, why are you such a moron? I do not hate women, just don't view them the same way as you do... and one that calls another a bigot is also themselves a bigot...
I have never said it was mental illness... I said it was a choice... but then yeager you refuse to answer simple questions as to your sexual preference... would be nice to see the basis of your misguided misinformed ideas on this subject...
You ashamed of being homosexual?
AIN'T LIFE GRAND...
Homosexuality is a choice that can be corrected...

You haven't establish if I am or am not. So you should stop being such a suggestive ass. Also, as I have pointed out to you before, it wouldn't be any of your business if I was or wasn't.
Why do you wonder?
I also treat women with equality, and view them as being as important as me. I am very secure in that way. Just as I AM secure in my sexuality. It is so easy to recoginize a person who is insecure when dealing with others.
