I have three unanswered questions. Coulds omeone please tell me:
1. Why Kerry, who fought in combat in Vietnam, is considered a coward by some but Bush who aided and abetted the communists by being too spineless to even go to Vietnam is
not?

1. Kerry is being smeared by a bunch of wealthy Republicans and the people who are being manipulated by this smear are the same people who believe that WMD were in Iraq and may still be found. The problem is ignorance coupled with callous insensitivity. How can such people claim to be so proud of their country and their military while they rush to denegrate not only John Kerry but all the people who served with him in his boat and denigrate the medals that were awarded to him and denigrate the officers in the Navy who awarded them. How can any of these people say now that they are patriotic Americans. Maybe they really aren't and that's why they can excuse the obscure military record of their president, George Bush.
Unfortunately, when the truth is known there will be some still clinging to the lie.
2. I'm not sure exactly what a "REAL ID", as it relates to posters here, may be. Some posters have multiple ID's and I suppose that you could argue that each of the sock puppet IDs have some degree of reality.
3.A rubber manure hat is a protective lid to place on your head when you read the posts of several ID's mentioned in question #2.

1. I think that former and possibly current military service members will see John Kerry's commercials and possibly see themselves in that same position. Anyone who was ever wounded, or had a family member who was wounded or killed might create an alliance with Kerry. These same people may also reject Bush for the fact that he belittles Kerry's service effort, especially since Bush hasn't ever witnessed one minute of combat action, and has a questionable service record himself.
I have a hard time voting for a president who is willing to send young people to war, with the real possibility of these people being permanently injured or killed. When in fact one who has never went himself.
No one should belittle John Kerry's wounds, until they have walked a mile in his combat boots.
2. The same as Helen's.
3. The same as Helen's.
4. This traditional republican voter is voting for John Kerry! , and never for Bush or anyone like him again!

yeager, no fooling, no joking, I'm seriously interested in why you'll vote for Kerry instead of Bush. Besides the his cowardice in regards to the war what other reasons did you have?
I promise, no flaming or arguing will ensue from me.

john kerry's latest war story:
There he was. Surrounded by vc and out of ammo. Thinking quickly, kerry gets out his war medals and throws them at the enemy, inflicting fatal wounds on all the vc and saving the lives of his shipmates.

Soon to be a motion picture made by the Republicans just as soon as they can figure out who they will pick to play Kerry.

Kerry is being smeared by a bunch of wealthy Republicans - That's quite a statement when you think about all the wealth Teresa Heinz Kerry has. 6 homes, husband rides a $7,000 bike. Just sold a home in Italy for 7 Million dollars. I have a hard time figuring who is wealthy.
I can tell you I am far from wealthy. I never will be wealthy and I didn't come from a wealthy family and all who voted Republican so don't lump me in with that group.
#1. I never said he was a coward, I just didn't believe you could get that many purple hearts in that short of time and then in 4 months get out of the service. That was news to me.
#2 is when you go to a bar and they ask you for your ID. It better be real or out you go.
#3. Beats the devil out of me. Never heard of it and the only rubber hat we have in Wisconsin are the pieces of cheese people wear on their heads to football games and look stupid.

Boy, Libra!!
You really have something against Teresa Heinz Kerry and her wealth. This is one of many threads that you have mentioned it in a negative way. She may be rich, and if she is, then good for her. One good thing about the Bush administration is that she will be getting the tax breaks for all that money.
Also, what is stopping you from obtaining wealth for yourself? The answer is YOU!

Crowfarm asks, "Libra, what in the world has Theresa Kerry's wealth got to do with the Republicans smear campaign ???????"
Since it was my remark that confused Libra,I will explain that.
First, Libra quoted a part of my comment,"Kerry is being smeared by a bunch of wealthy Republicans." Libra countered my remark by noting that Kerry's wife was wealthy too.
I should explain that the veteran's group is not being incriminated because of their wealth alone but the way in which they are USING their wealth and Republican contributions to smear the good record of John Kerry.
By the way, according to the New York Times, the party and the Kerry campaign have released bits of information they say show connections between Mr. Bush and the group - mostly by noting that Bob J. Perry, a Texas developer whose path has frequently crossed that of Karl Rove, Mr. Bush's top political strategist, donated $100,000 to the Swift boat group.

I throw my "non-rubber" hat in the ring...
1.- Alot of military personnel received purple hearts, for whatever reason. Doesn't mean they should all run for president. That isn't what I base my choice for President on.
2.- That's the ID you'd better have when the cops pull you over.

Good thinking! TerryAnn. Purple hearts are given away without the same serious consideration as other medals are awarded. Kerry was not "proud" of those purple hearts and he certainly never intended to base his political carreer on the fact that he received them. His book, Tour of Duty and the Vietnam War by historian Douglas Brinkley makes that perfectly clear.

1. When some worship a leader such as Bush they can see no faults.
2. A "real ID" is one that you actually use on ebay for selling as well as posting on the boards. But sometimes if you piss off a fellow poster with your brilliance they can threaten to screw with your auctions because they don't have the mental ability to respond to you any other way.
3. A term coined by someone who spends much of his or her time flinging #*!@.

Then why is it that kerry can't speak for more that five minute without referring to his military service?
Answer: Because it was the accidental stepping stone for his political career. If the Swift boats had stayed in their original mission status, (offshore patrol) like kerry expected, he never would have seen action.
PS in answer to your totally asinine statement of Pres Bush being a coward. it take a hell of a lot more skill and courage to fly jet fighter aircraft at 600 mph than to float around in a boat at 20 mph.
