Just curious how many of you have had the chance to see our candidates live and in person? I know this is kind of a loaded question since George W. Bush doesn't speak to the public in person.

Bush and Kerry were both in Portland Oregon a few weeks back. I heard Bush attracted about 2600 people in two appearances in Portland the same day, all of whom had to sign his "Oath of Loyalty". While in downtown Portland, they expected 10,000 people to show up for John Kerry's rally and instead were greated with 40,000 Kerry supporters.

It just seems as though the President should be more in the public eye, and not just on television. The only means that Bush has to attract as many people as John Kerry is when there are mass protests, such as in New York today, all being against Bush's policies. That seems like a pretty disturbing trend for this President.

Now that is a loaded question.

First you ask it then you answer it.

My impression is that Security will not let Pres Bush speak like that. Since JK has only minimal security he can do as he wishes.
He is only a candidate not the sitting president.

I did get an invitation to see the President next Friday as he is in Milwaukee. It would be a honor to go but I am going to have to pass on it.

Republicans have more class than the democrats. What good are protesters, they mean nothing, being a protester does not get your idea across. Pro abortion people are their in droves so I guess it is alright to kill a fetus but someone do it to a 2 year old they are a murderer. If you have ever watched an ultrasound you will know when that fetus is alive and it is before the 3rd trimester. Ask NTS...I think she saw her daughters US.

Mr. Kraft saw Jean Claude Van Damme. Does that count? He said he's a midget. Bush looks tiny too. What is he - 5'1" - 5'2"?

Here it is Kraft, you asked for it.

Bush's three-hour annual physical Saturday found that the 57-year-old patient stands "71 3/4 inches without shoes," and weighs in 5 pounds heavier than last year at 194 pounds, but has kept the same body fat percentage of 14.5%.

I saw Barbara Bush, while she was lecturing at Mansfield University a while ago. (I thoroughly enjoyed it!)

I also saw President Bush (the first) disembarking from Air Force One in Hawaii.

But, alas, I have never seen either of the candidates in person.

Glad I am able to speak as a Texas on this one. Like any sitting president, the only way he can mix with the public, is if he excapes from the Secret Service. Sad to say but necessary in these days of kooks and nuts. If you drive down the road to the ranch, you will see the signs "No stopping, Protected Area". Radar outposts, secret service, the whole works. The same with any president's residence. Heck the same thing still exists with Lady Bird Johnson' house. Cameras, guard houses. A sad testimony on the state of our country.

I did see George and Barbara Bush once a long time ago during a lecture. I've always liked Barbara. Can't say that about her husband, though. Although, I now prefer the father to the son.

I've never seen Kerry or the George, the son. I do know our Congressman and our State Rep, though. They're far more accessible. Getting to know your reps in person is something I urge everyone to do.

I have received invitations to dine with President Bush at the cost of 1500.00 per reservation. I am the owner of a small corporation ( tax shelter) and I can assume that is the reason for the invitations.
I did not attend. Doc

I sold a horse to Dan Quayle's cousin....made a tidy profit on an impossible jumper...never seen Bush or Kerry, don't care to meet either one...although I'd have Edwards in for a toddy any time...he probably doesn't drink...character flaw...oh well.

Bush was in Taylor, Michigan yesterday, which is about 70 miles from me. I decided not to waste the gas to see him.
