Be brave, be strong and run for your life if it comes your way!!!!!

How's that??

Really, I am sorry that anyone is in the path of Ivan and I hope it veers away from your area. If not there is no shame at all in leaving till it's over.

Ivan might be a good thing for you, don't get me wrong, I really do hope that you fair well through the coming storm. All I am saying is that maybe you might become more of a sweetie pie after Ivan is gone.

When it starts storming and the lightning is flying about, don't forget to shut down your puter or you might fry your motherboard and then it might be another month before we here from you.

Good luck, Maggie. There is a rather large group of Christians up here praying for all the areas in the storm's track.

Keep us informed.

In Christ,
Rick

Psalm 29:11

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: "I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I do not accept His claim to be God." That is one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic....or else he would be the devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

Wait until the thunder and lightning are quite close together, climb up on your roof with your extra long super-duper magic metal wand and try some spells. Remember the lightning and the thunder has to be close together for spells to work, less than one or two seconds apart. Use a metal lanyard to secure yourself to something permanent, such as a water pipe.

Good luck.

Maggie-

Don't forget to disconnect from your phone line on the computer. One of my friends lost his last year because the power came through the phone line. Another's surge protector MELTED!

Best wishes!

The last one dumped 6.1" of rain here in one night (Wednesday). Roads closed here and took out a bridge the state had just replaced. We had a helluva mess. Hope this one peters out.

Good luck, Maggie! My dad lives on the gulf side of Florida so he's sharing your concern. Even just a little wind will be devastating to Port Charlotte. It looks like a war zone already.

Good advice, TerryAnn! We forget about those things.

Just talked to my cousin in Pascagoula, Ms. She is planning to leave early tomorow morning...3AM...Traffic is moving 5 miles an hour. Luckily, we have relatives in Jackson because all motels and hotels in Mississippi are full.

I'll bet Maggie is on the way there too.

Hi Everybody!
I'm still at home.. I've got my suitcase packed and the dog's stuff, bringing my jewelry, important papers and a few things I just can't part with..
I'm going to wait until tomorrow morning though. I've decided to head up north towards Jackson then veer west..and keep going until I can find a place to sleep. Called all the motels from here to Texas and they are all booked.. so hoping I will find a mom &pop or a Bates Motel along the way.. LOL
Taking the truck instead of my car..
Hope I will have a house to come back to.
Helen, hope your sister will be fine, and anyone else in the path..
If it comes in by the mouth of the Mississippi River, New Orleans will be underwater.. New Orleans is shaped like a big soup bowl.. once the levies go it just fills up to the brim..
So hopefully Ivan will show some mercy and head a little more toward the north east..don't want to wish it on anybody else though..
Crow, and MAH.. thanks for the invitation!
and thanks everybody for your kind thoughts.
I'll be talking to you all soon, I hope..

Good luck maggie! And everyone that is in the path of this... also be watching for the next one, Jeanne, which I don't know exactly where its headed, looks like on the tail of Cuba and closing in.

I've never seen hurricanes one right after the other like this!

Be safe
