A while back I reported ebaying had delay in taking out their user fees on a monthly basic and went to a six week take out on many of us. In doing so it went into the 3rd Quarter earnings report making the stock move up! Also report My sales are down, sales in toys and sports are down big time.

??
corporate accounting is on accrual basis-revenue is recognised as it occurs, when does it collect the fund is another matter.
so when you list an item ,its listing fee is recognised as revenue for ebay for that period,if you are a bookeeper, these are the entries you would make-
debit account receivables.
credit sales/revenue.
when they collect your listing fee-
debit cash
credit account receivables.
Of the three general ledger accounts-receivables,sales/revenue and cash, only sales/revenue is a profit/loss account and is reported as a line item on income/loss statement for the period.
so back to your statement, ebay cannot manipulate its sales by delaying collecting the fees from you.

cmsspu, I have been a full time seller for over 40 years now. The prices are down because millions of Americans have less money to spend than they did just 4 years ago. A million more Americans are in poverty now. Millions more are not working or working harder for less money while their living expenses keep going up. Only the rich have more money to spend under Bush Cheney. The rest of us are hurting under Bush Cheney.
I advertise to buy and my phone is ringing off the hook with people that are hurting trying to sell anything they can get their hands on. In my 40 years of buying and selling I have never seen it this bad.
If you want 4 more years of this then vote for Bush Cheney and you will get what you voted for and even more. Before voting you should think what these guys will do if they don't have to worry about re-election. Scary isn't it?

do you think Kerry can change that??
factories relocating to countries with cheaper labor??
Service jobs outsourced to countries with cheaper labor??
what would he do??
incentives to stay??which means less govt revenue and a bigger deficit with weaker dollar.
gvt spending to boost the economy??which will boost the deficit and weaken the dollar and drive rates up??
ask us to work for less??
we are already working for less, but on the flip side ,we are also enjoying fruits of cheap labor-clothes are cheap, daily staples are cheap, houses are cheap.
yeah, what about healthcare and medicine, thats going up every day,so are insurances for car and house and gas to fill the gas tank.
But we are never a nation of savers,we expect insurance companies to foot our medical bills and we have no emergency fund for rainy days.
The sanguine way to look at today situation is that other people have learned to do what we do,just like back in the old days, they made shoes and we made radio.
Then they made radios and we made tv set.
Then they made Tvset and we made cars.
Then they made cars and we made planes.
Then they made ?? and we made computers.
SO what do we make now that they cant make??
If you cant come up with a list of what we make that they cant make, then we will just have to earn the same wage they earn and live like them??
No one likes to hear that, but it is happening.
It has already happened years and years ago in European countries.

I see the other developed countries dont seem to care as much, may be we should be just like them,i dunno??
may be this is a price we pay for being big and powerful????

stopwhining, sorry your Saddam thing isn't working any longer. It turned out to be a bunch of lies and from Bush Cheney.
What you got from Bush Cheney is a bunch of lies about Iraq. Plus 1,000 dead American troops, over 7,000 wounded Americans and over 200 billion spent with no end in sight. You also got from Bush Cheney a record National Debt while we are all still counting.
Like I said before if you like all this plus a lot more then vote for Bush Cheney. Your vote will get you what you voted for and a lot more!!!!!
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO THINK REAL HARD BEFORE THEY VOTE THIS TIME AROUND.
"THINK NOT OF WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU, THINK OF WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY" J.F.K. 1960s
"What you got from Bush Cheney is a bunch of lies about Iraq. Plus 1,000 dead American troops, over 7,000 wounded Americans and over 200 billion spent with no end in sight. You also got from Bush Cheney a record National Debt while we are all still counting."
Right, bigpeepa!
Bush's war on terror is being LOST! As Biden said, "The president has frequently described Iraq as, quote, 'the central front of the war on terror,' " Mr. Biden went on. "Well by that definition, success in Iraq is a key standard by which to measure the war on terror. And by that measure, I think the war on terror is in trouble."
WASHINGTON, Sept. 15 - A classified National Intelligence Estimate prepared for President Bush in late July spells out a dark assessment of prospects for Iraq, government officials said Wednesday.
The intelligence estimate, the first on Iraq since October 2002, was prepared by the National Intelligence Council and was approved by the National Foreign Intelligence Board under John E. McLaughlin, the acting director of central intelligence. Such estimates can be requested by the White House or Congress, but this one was initiated by the intelligence council under George J. Tenet, who stepped down as director of central intelligence on July 9, the government officials said.
The situation in Iraq prompted harsh comments from Republicans and Democrats at a hearing into the shift of spending from reconstruction to security. Senator Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, called it "exasperating for anybody look at this from any vantage point," and Senator Chuck Hagel, Republican of Nebraska, said of the overall lack of spending: "It's beyond pitiful, it's beyond embarrassing. It is now in the zone of dangerous."

Stopwhining
People have it in their head if Kerry gets in he will wave a wand and everything will be perfect. They need to wake up...we don't live in a perfect world. Some things you can not go back and change.

I agree that cleaning up Bush's monstrous mess will be a big job and you are right to point out that we don't have a magic wand. But the faster we end Bush policy, the better. Why do you want to give Bush another four years to make his do do pile even higher?
