We have a shop here in Portland, Oregon. It is located in an area that has been predominantly African American for the last 40-50 years, however, over the last 5 years, the area has become gentrified by young, white suburbanites looking for affordable housing. Many are first time home owners, just starting new families.
The area still has its problems, and today was just a perfect example of a con-artist hard at work. There is a guy who cleans windows up and down the street. His first visit to our shop was about 6 weeks ago, and I paid him to clean our windows inside and out. It took him about 15 minutes total. He only asked for $5, but I gave him $10. Little did I notice that he didn't clean the windows on the side of the building. I didn't care for the guy much after he asked to use my telephone, only to call his wife and start screaming at her in our store. That was 6 weeks ago. Today, he came strolling in telling me he has been looking for me for weeks now. He then proceeded to tell me that he cleaned the front of our windows including "Rain-X". I of course, never agreed to this, and even question whether he was telling the truth. So, I didn't say anything, I didn't offer him any money... he just kept standing at my counter telling me how he needed to buy books for school. Finally, after about 3 or 4 minutes, he says, "since I cleaned your windows, do you mind paying me the $10 you owe me?" I told him I was broke and had no intentions of paying for something that didn't need to be done, and that I don't pay for services unless I authorize them. He got mad, and stormed out. It just amazes me the nerve of people.

Sounds like your window cleaner is a demo in training. Wanting to be paid for something he hadn't done yet.

Send him over to Helen's house.
She needs a clearer View of the World around her.
And I think she would pay him to do Nothing!

Moronic comments aside...
rusty, I bet you won't see this scumbag again...good thing you didn't pay him anything, or you'd have left yourself wide open for additional extortion.

Windows are one thing that bear49 doesn't have to worry about. There are no windows in his bunker. Bear's bunker only has gun slots that gives him such a narrow view of his surroundings.
