I had a left rear wheel bearing replaced on my car less than a month ago after buying four new tires. Today I had to replace both rear wheel bearings and they couldn't get the nuts that go on the spindles get to wait on that one...makes you wonder about the great parts going on our cars these days. Yea, I know it could be worse. Yes I'm greatful I got it to the mechanic when I did. I just wonder why car parts have to be so sorry in this day and time. P.S. they are american made.

Car parts are getting scarce. Last month I needed a front wheel hub for my 67 Chevy truck but I found out that no one makes them anymore. I was very lucky to find a junkyard that had one and I bought an extra one to keep as a spare or to sell on ebay.

Yes it seems that way. You would think if they were made in this country it would be easier to get,but they are not able to stock them as it cost too much. I was able to get two extra nuts to go on the spindles and those are really hard to get. One is a left hand thread, you won't find that in a junk yard or partshouse nowhere.

MAH - I'd still recommend 'calling' a few junkyards. You'd be surprised what they had. Many are computerized now and you don't have to go searching through them as you did before. Also since they're in the same business they might be able to recommend someone who might. That worked for me.
We've had good luck twice with parts we were told weren't being made anymore for an old Mustang.
