If it helps any, I found a lump when I was 19 (I'm 35 now). It was about the size of a lime and hard. I had started to feel it all the time, especially at night, the pain would wake me from a sound sleep.
They did a needle aspiration and determined that it was not a cyst, so off I went for surgery. It turned out to be a fiberous tumor, benign but scary nonetheless.

I'm so glad that everything went well for you funkikitti. Thank you for the words of encouragement. We are all trying to keep up beat and a positive attitude, but down deep I am terrified. It will be a week before we know anything...I have to believe that all will turn out fine, she is a young mother with four children. Maggie

That sounds like what my daughter has! Her appointment is at 1:30 this afternoon and I doubt she slept a wink. I know I didn't. The first thing she was worried about was her daughter and who would care for her. Well, duh, of course I will!! Her father (Tiffany) is a deadbeat who hasn't seen the child in 5 years. He'll get his hands on her over my dead body! Besides, I told her if she has to have it removed, surgery isn't as drastic as it once was and she'll be up and around in no time. In fact, she'd better be. Grandma doesn't need any gray hair. LOL!

Four children. How terrible for them to have to go through this and I know they go through it as well. I prayed all night and sent prayers your daughter's way as well. It's hard when they are so young.
When I had cervical cancer, I was in my 30's. The first thing I asked was, "So, what do we do now? How do we get rid of it?" When they went in to do surgery, they discovered it was too advanced for surgery so I went the radiation route. Cancer, or even the threat of it, is still a scarey thing for everyone involved. It's an ugly word.
