I'm getting a bit of a head start on my New Year's resolution, and my mantra is going to be "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!" a la The Little Engine That could
Just before Christmas my Bowflex Sport finally came. My friend's son (who has moved out & lives with his girlfriend) came over with said girlfriend and helped me put it together.
Last night I made my start using it. Was a little stiff today, but I did the second round tonight--just finished in fact. I am not a morning person at all, so I will be exercising late in the evenings usually. It came with a three tape set (Day 1, 2 & 3) which has me alternating exercises so my whole body will get a workout.
I am determined to get back in shape!!!! And I'm feeling the burn, baby!

I don't know what a bowflex sport is but I bet its nice. I am thinking this is like one of those weight lifting things?? If so you might want to consider that in about 2 weeks the exercise you are doing will not be tiring any longer but you will be charged up and ready to go. I got back into lifting weights again just recently and found that when I go at 8:00 pm I have a hard time getting to sleep at my normal bedtime. But its a good feeling to have the energy back.

In a way. Bowflex machines have thingies called power rods that take the place of weights, but essentially do the same thing--but without the need for a spotter, which is nice since I live alone. The Bowflex Sport model also allows me to do rowing and leg exercises. It came with 200 pounds, but if I ever work up to & past that weight I can upgrade to 300 or 400 pounds. But as I am 49 years old, and a woman, I dcoubt I will ever need to do that.
Today is Day 3. On Day 1 I worked my chest & shoulders; on Day 2 I worked my back & arms; today I will be working my legs & trunk. And then just keep doing the workouts in order.

I can't even wear two-piece swimsuits, let alone a bikini! I'd burn to a crisp! Even with one piece suits I have to wear a cover of some sort to protect my arms, not to mention a hat.
For that reason I rarely go to the beach. And when I'm on dive boats, I tend to wear a wet or dry suit most of the time for the same reason.

One nice thing about living alone is that you don't have to wear anything at all, if you don't feel like it...

Okay...it's 'day 7' ....has anyone heard from bunni recently? lol
Seriously, bunni, good luck on your new workout plan...the investment alone will be good incentive to keep with the program. We'll likely be seeing a 'buffed' bunni scuba-diving off some foreign shore and attracting more than fish.
And rather than 'I think I can'....you'll soon be saying: 'I know I can'.
