I was just wondering this morning how you are feeling? Have you been able to shake this flu yet? I thought I was feeling better, but I'm not. I have to go into work this morning to do the billing and I'm wondering how I'm ever going to drive there. I must have been running quite a fever last night because I woke up this morning soaked in sweat (I know, YUK!). I know I had bad chills before I went to bed. It's been 5 days now. You'd think it would be over! My daughter and granddaughter are just as ill. Tiffany has missed 5 days of school!

I'm also finding that this flu leaves you quite dehydrated! I'm so tired of drinking tea, but it seems to help sooth the terrible cough.

Ditto here Cheryl. I also woke up soaked in sweat again today like I did all the other days. Temp was usually 102. This is one mean flu. We were lucky although I did babysit the whole week nobody else got it thank goodness. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I have been drinking fruit 2 0 until I can't stand it but You have to replace those fluids so it it important. This is the start of my 6th day and I am hoping maybe today will be the last of it but I am not going to hold my breath. I now have quite a horrible cough. I hope tomorrow isn't walkin clinic time.

Thanks for your concern and asking I really appreciate it. Good Luck and you get well soon....

Libra

I just drug myself from the couch to read your post here. I went into work and promptly turned around and came home. Your drinking Fruit 2 0 sounds like all the tea I've been drinking. I can't stand the taste of it anymore.

I did try chicken broth. It brings temporary relief, but that's about it. This is the pits!

Sorry to hear that Cheryl. I do feel a little better. The sun is out and I hear it is 40 degrees. Now you get well so if by chance this weather reaches you, you might take advantage and step outside. Nothing like a little sunshine to brighten a day.

Now crowfarm don't worry your pretty little head about either me or my family. Just keep your nose out of my business. I don't see your name attached to this thread so if you can't contribute anything good keep the mouth shut.

It has been pretty quiet in here lately and I am sure it is going to get more quietier.
I am not going to add fuel to the fire.

Thanks for starting this thread Cheryl as it is always nice to know people are thinking of you. It has nothing to do with democrats or republicans it has to do with friendship and I feel that even if we have a difference of opinion that we can still get along unlike others in there. Get Well Soon

Both of you should get some TheraFlu. Drink two cups then wrap up in your warmest jams with as many blankets as you can stand on top of you and still be able to breath. You will wake up in the morning soaking wet and needing to do laundry but should feel almost good as new.

As for the dehydration... Try Gatoraide... You don't need the water so much as the electrolytes which you can replenish much faster with sports drinks or Pedalyte type drinks that are loaded with them. Drinking that will also help get rid of the headache that comes with the dehydration.

( hint to drinkers - Gatoraide and two asprin after the bar and before bed will help prevent hangovers )

I can vouch for that remedy. It works even better if you have a double shot of good whiskey as soon as you get up.

Cheryl & Libra, don't forget about hot peppers. They do wonders if you have a fever. (I know Prof will agree!)

Just curious... did either of you get flu shots? Mr. Kraft and most of his co-workers got it and he said quite a few of them have gotten sick (him too). I thought that was weird.

No not me Kraft. I let the people that needed them get them. I haven't had the flu in years and I hope I don't get again for quite some time.

I can't stand mild sauce from taco bell

kraft I have always thought it weird that injecting a virus into someone is the way to build up antibodies to it. But maybe it doesnt always work that way though.

Double, they don't use the whole virus. It's usually the shell or only a small part of the virus and the shell, which has the receptors.

I didn't get the shot either. I have elderly parents so I can relate to there not being enough vaccine to go around. My granddaughter (6) wasn't able to get one because there was none available. Too late now.

I have TheraFlu. I'm going to give it a try tonight. I've also had strange urges for different food. This afternoon it was a Taco Salad with hot salsa. Tonight it's a baked potatoe. Thank God for Ken! He keeps having to take trips to the store. LOL!

classic, ya, that is the most bizzare. But how come this sort of thing doesnt work for allergies then? Like if people are alergic to certain tree pollen or whatever, they are never told to go hang-out in the park for awhile! lol!

Cheryl how weird. I don't like the hot sauce but I did crave baked potatoes. I had just bought 5 pounds of Idaho and I baked one and oh how good.

I am sorry to hear that at least your granddaughter didn't get one that's terrible. Mine got their but the 9 year old is high risk and the youngest was 1. I don't even wish this on crowfarm but don't tell her that as she might think I am her friend

I hope your on the road to recovery. I am feeling pretty good except for a sore back. One more day at home and I will be good to go. Can't pass up a superbowl party...

Well crowfarm you showed your true colors and I hope and wish the posters in this discussion board realize how heartless a human you can be. It was not only me that was sick but also your friend Cheryl. Maybe you were upset that nobody asked how you were. Maybe nobody cares about you but I knew when Cheryl started this thread the first to trash it would be you. How did I guess that, well you showed your true colors. You are an indistructable human being, and there is no shame in you. No wonder you lost 9% of your salary you probably did the same thing where you worked. I wouldn't put anything past you. You are chasing posters off one by one and soon you will have discussions with yourself, now won't that be fun. You are now going back on ignore. Now shove your ideas where the sun don't shine....

"""""I wouldn't put anything past you."""

You mean like not whining for sympathy?

"""You are chasing posters off one by one (and how, lala do you prove that?)

How nice of you libra....what a dirty mouth.

Now try in your senility to remember to keep me on ignore so we don't have to listen to your childish whining.
