A drunk and a drug user
I wonder if there is a secret sex video that will be released as well.
NEW YORK - Private conversations with George Bush secretly taped by an old friend before he was elected president foreshadow some of his political strategies and appear to reveal that he acknowledged using marijuana, The New York Times reported Saturday.
The conversations were recorded by Doug Wead, a former aide to George W. Bush’s father, beginning in 1998, when Bush was weighing a presidential bid, until just before the Republican National Convention in 2000, the Times said in a story posted on its Web site.
The tapes show Bush crafting a strategy for navigating the tricky political waters between Christian conservative and secular voters, repeatedly worrying that evangelicals would be angered by a refusal to bash gays and that secular Americans would be turned off by meetings with evangelical leaders.
On one tape, Bush explains that he told one prominent evangelical that he would not “kick gays, because I’m a sinner. How can I differentiate sin?”
Candid talk about foes, drugs
In early tapes, Bush dismisses the strength of John McCain for the nomination and expresses concern about rival Steve Forbes. He also praises John Ashcroft as a promising candidate for Supreme Court justice, attorney general or vice president.
Bush also criticizes then-Vice President Al Gore for admitting marijuana use and explains why he would not do the same.
“I wouldn’t answer the marijuana questions,” he said, according to the Times. “You know why? Because I don’t want some little kid doing what I tried.”
According to the article, Wead played 12 of the tapes to a Times reporter. He said he recorded them because he viewed Bush as a historic figure. He is the author of a new book on presidential childhoods.
The New York Times hired an audio authentication expert who concluded the voice was that of the president. The White House did not deny the authenticity of the tapes.
“The governor was having casual conversations with someone he believed was his friend,” White House spokesman Trent Duffy said, referring to Bush.

Bush once mistaken for 'Scottish boy'
21 February 2005
WASHINGTON: Young George W. Bush once worked on a sheep farm in Scotland and was mistaken by an American tourist as a "little Scottish boy".
The president disclosed his presence in Scotland as a youth in talking to European journalists during a round-table interview on Friday looking ahead to his Europe trip next week.
Bush pointed out the Group of Eight summit of industrialized nations this year would be in Scotland.
He added: "I worked there as a 14-year-old kid. I left Texas for Scotland to work on a sheep farm. And I'm riding a bike, taking this one sheep, you know, from here to there and I said OK, fine, and a big tour bus stops. And they got off and a woman with a Texas accent said, 'look at the little Scottish boy.'"
Bush, who himself has a Texas twang, said he did not let on that he was an American.
"I kept my mouth shut," he said.
All this came up when a British reporter noted his son had the Scottish name Mungo, to which Bush said: "Can you imagine if my name had been Mungo Bush?"

So what. Many kids and adults smoke Marijuana get over it. Just keep surfing the net to see what else you can find. It seems you and crowfarm have a fetish with Bush.
Oh BTW Corporations have been making big bucks long before the Republicans got into office. It ain't going to change.
So what if he was a sheepherder. He was 14 years old. What were you doing at age 14. Well really I don't care and what George Bush did at age 14 is irrelevant...has nothing to do with now.

Libra63, please don't get your bloomers bunched. It was a bit of trivia about himself that Bush disclosed to journalists the other day. Too bad you weren't there ...... you could have told him it is irrelevant and has nothing to do with now.
Many kids and adults smoke Marijuana get over it.
And do you approve of smoking marijuana? Do you smoke it too?

You know, I don't care that he smoked pot or did coke either for that matter... the above statement however can only be excused as evidence of something much more potent
Just the fact that someone had even a fleeting though of putting our constitution in the hands of Ashcroft scares the hell out of me.

We were told during his first campaign that Bush had no experience in foreign relations. I wonder why he didn't include Scotland on his resume???

Is the alley where you take the few women you do manage to "pick up" at the strip club? Isn't there more room and privacy in the alley than your bedroom at your mother's house.

Kiara no I don't smoke, never had. Never done drugs, never will. It also is none of your business.
Are you ever a two faced person. You come in and say things about me but you left crowfarm alone when she said that to Linda. I knew that you wouldn't say anything but what the hay what crowfarm says is okay but when I say something you jump down my throat. You seem to have a double standard.
Your the one who gets their bloomers bunched. What you critize one for your buddy crowfarm does much worse. Did you say something no.
Remember you are the one that said.
Yes logansdad, he was a drunk, a drug user and also a shepherd not me.
You talk about us living in the past what about the people on the left. Yes Bush probably smoked marjuana so did Clinton. I could give a rats ass if they both did. You probably did also.
Tell me oh smart one, what does it have to do with now. It is only irrelevant to the left because they can't find something major about him. You say we can't bring up the past well that was in the past and you are bringing it up.

I will pray for all of you.
Some of you will like it, some of you will run for the hills because you are afraid of what you don't know.
Have faith - God will see us through - Keep your eyes towards heaven.
After all, if Mr. Kerry had won, those on the right would only be complaining about that wife of his.
President Bush is our President-have some respect and quit being babies.

Libra63, why try to drag me into your little battles with Crowfarm? You're a big girl and you like hurling insults, take care of yourself. And I didn't come in to say things 'about you', I just responded to what you said about Bush.
You say we can't bring up the past
I never said you 'can't' do anything.
Bush's drug problems are widely known and it was Bush that mentioned the sheep just a day or so ago..... it was in the news. Perhaps you should write him a letter and tell him not to bring up the past because posters on Vendio talk about it and it upsets you.

Where does it say he was once a shepard???
I supposed if I once swam in an olypmic-sized pool, that makes me an olympic swimmer?
I do notice logansdad has been mum on the other quote: "I will not discrimate against gays."
whoo-boy! What a thing to catch him saying in an off-guard moment. But totally not as note-worthy as him standing on mountain when he was 14 years old.

Well Kiara I will bring you up as you do butt into other peoples business. Remember the sick rabbit or do I have to refresh your memory.
Didn't you say this.
Yes logansdad, he was a drunk, a drug user and also a shepherd
I guess if someone drinks they are a drunk. Smoked Marijuana so he is a drug user. Lots of those floating around. Who said he had a drug problem? And at the age of 14 went to Scotland and herded sheep. What did you do at age 14? That is in the past and you are bringing them up.
Have you ever had a drink? If yes, then are you a drunk. Keep it up Kiara evidently you can dish it out but when someone proves you wrong opps forgot you are never wrong.

He was classified as "drunk" when he was charged with driving under the influence. In fact, his problem with drinking led to his decision to persue religion and consider himself "born again". Or at least that is what his friends report.

Libra63, Bush did drugs and he has admitted more than once that he had a serious drinking problem.
Bush brought up the comment about the sheep farm just the other day. I didn't dig that up, it was in the news...... if you don't believe me just google it.
Calling him a shepherd was just a facetious comment. Lighten up!

Crowfarm why do you need to swear. I can say and do as I please. How do you know he is an alcoholic. If I were you, and I am not thank goodness, discussion boards are monitored and what you say here can be used against you. Look at the bloggers that are getting caught.
Anyway I found this article.
Marijuana taints presidential bids
by
By Charles Hurt
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
If either of the two top Democratic presidential contenders defeats President Bush in November, he will become the first American president to openly acknowledge having smoked marijuana — and inhaled.
Sens. John Kerry and John Edwards both have admitted publicly to using marijuana as younger men. Mr. Bush — a product of the same generation — refuses to say whether he has.
Massachusetts' Mr. Kerry first admitted during a 1990 Senate re-election campaign that he'd smoked marijuana as an antiwar protester after he returned from fighting in Vietnam.
"About 20 years ago, I tried marijuana," Mr. Kerry said through a spokesman in 1990. "I didn't like it. I have never used or tried any drug since." During an interview with Rolling Stone magazine last November, Mr. Kerry elaborated on his views about casual marijuana use.
"I've met plenty of people in my lifetime who've used marijuana and who I would not qualify as serious addicts — who use about the same amount as some people drink beer or wine or have a cocktail," he said. "I don't get too excited by any of that."
Like Mr. Kerry, Mr. Edwards — the freshman senator from North Carolina — said during the "Rock the Vote" debate last November on CNN that he'd smoked marijuana before. He did not elaborate.
But in general, Mr. Edwards has maintained a stronger view against illegal marijuana use.
The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) has given Mr. Edwards two thumbs down for his opposition to the decriminalization of the drug and his "little concern" for medical marijuana use.
NORML gives Mr. Kerry a green thumbs up for his "mild support for the legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes." The group isn't as pleased with Mr. Kerry over his hesitancy to decriminalize marijuana, although they don't give him an outright thumbs down on the issue.
In his Rolling Stone interview, the former prosecutor said he didn't "quite" support making marijuana legal. "What we did in the prosecutor's office was have a sort of unspoken approach to marijuana that was almost effectively decriminalization," Mr. Kerry said. "We just didn't bother with small-time use."
Mr. Kerry also joined his senior Massachusetts senator, Democrat Edward M. Kennedy, in a letter last October to the federal Drug Enforcement Administration seeking approval for the University of Massachusetts to grow high-quality marijuana.
For 30 years, the University of Mississippi has been the sole supplier of high-grade marijuana used in research by the government, creating "an unjustifiable monopoly on the production of marijuana for legitimate medical and research purposes in the United States," according to the letter.
Mr. Kerry and Mr. Kennedy were concerned that the lack of competition "may well result in the production of lower-quality, research-grade marijuana, which in turn jeopardizes important research into the therapeutic effects of marijuana for patients undergoing chemotherapy or suffering from AIDS, glaucoma, or other diseases."
Mr. Bush never has directly answered questions about whether he used marijuana or other drugs. When asked in August 1999, he replied: "I made some mistakes years ago, but I learned from my mistakes." The next day, he elaborated — but only a little.
"Not only could I pass the background check and the standards applied to today's White House, but I could have passed the background check when my dad was president, a 15-year period."

liobra, this just proves the very narrow scope of your reasoning ability concerning anything political....it is PUBLIC knowledge admitted by bush that he is an alcoholic......pull your nose out of that joint and look around.
Yup, Helen, that's neocon reasoning,,,,have it off with some bimbo.. it's TERRIBLE...BUT
trying to kill someone by driving drunk is just what...a light-hearted prank.....?

lol, Helen. Ya, he can just 'crash' and burn a hole into a couple of women's lives....no big deal (to them).
I love how we pick n choose in our minds which is the more deadlier of the 7 deadly sins. Smoking pot and not inhaling it; or smoking pot and not wanting to say so then kids dont think its okay to do it?
If intention is 9/10th's the law, then Clinton apparently forgot to say he thought it was some kind of turkish cigeratte ... h e w a s n o t
i n haling there.
