HARTFORD, Conn. (Aug. 9) - Top Democrats on Capitol Hill abandoned Sen. Joe Lieberman one by one Wednesday and threw their support to Ned Lamont, the anti-war challenger who defeated him in the primary.
LAWMAKERS THAT LOCKED STEPPED LIKE LIEBERMAN DID WITH BUSH OVER IRAQ ARE NOW SCRAMBLING LIKE THE CROOKED RATS THEY REALLY ARE.
HEY AMERICANS START TAKING YOUR COUNTRY AT THE GREAT AMERICAN PROTEST ON 11/07/06
THE ONLY WAR BUSH AND HIS CROOKED LAWMAKERS ARE WINNING IS THEIR WAR AGAINST THE MIDDLE AND WORKING CLASS AMERICAN.

Lieberman did more than support the war. He voted yes on the newly enacted bankruptcy bill and supported attempts to privatize social security. He was out of step with his constituency.
He is now paying the price.

It wasn't Liberman that he gave the kiss of death too, It was the Democrat Party.
Liberman's lost was the death of the Democrat party.
Now a large sector of Democrats will move to the Green Party or the Socialist Workers Party. The rest will vote Republican.

Colin - I don't think you're right. I think Connecticut felt the need for change. I think it's only right that the Democratic party stands behind Lamont. He's the one the people voted for. What kind of Party would it be if they didn't stand behind the Dem that the people voted in? Those that said they would stand behind whoever won, are doing so.
Lieberman moved too close to the right for the comfort of the majority of the people in Conn. Simple as that. Hardly a loss to the Dem party.

I saw a poll on CNN tonight. The question went something like this.
Are you planing to vote against an incumbent in November?
88% replied yes. I guess the American people are pissed off at all the crooked,greedy,self-serving lawmakers.
With less than 3 months to THE GREAT AMERICAN PROTEST ON NOVEMBER 7th 2006. Its time Americans start taking back their country and dump THE SELF SERVING LOCK STEPPING WITH BUSH LAWMAKER CROOKS.

I don't think the Lieberman loss is any kind of a bellwether one way or the other. All this extremism stuff about it's the death of the Democrats or it's the death of the Republicans is just plain silly. Neither party's going to die.
I also don't think he's a crook.

O.K. so maybe I used a wrong word calling Lieberman a crook. I should have just called him a bitter,self-serving,self centered man that DID NOT LISTEN to what his voters wanted.
There is no deigning that Bush and his invasion of Iraq gave Liberman the kiss of political death.
Just look at the lock stepping lawmakers that voted with Bush for the last few years. These rats are now shaking in their combat boots.

I agree, Colin. Many in the dem party don't see this as just having cut their own throats....but the party strategists and many other more moderate dems ARE aware of what just happened to their party. They KNOW the reason clinton won in '92 is because the dem party made the voters believe they WERE a party who would be strong on National defense [even though imo, they WEREN'T]....and now they're chosing anti-war candidates....which will only keep them from winning in '08.

Then of course....we'll now see if old hillary will be flip-flopping on HER FULL support for going to war....and not setting a time table to 'admit defeat and run' like the far left wants the Nation to do.
Imo, this win may be the BEST think to happen for the Republican party....especially as we see the terror plot that was disclosed today, that was stopped, in the UK....another group arrested for plotting to blow airplanes up.
The voters have always trusted the Republican party more in this area. Don't expect that's going to be changing ANY time soon.
