That was the question posed on the cover of Time magazine. What do you think?

I haven't seen the cover, but with almost all flavors of God, he wants you to be poor, not burdened with too much distracting stuff.

My God wants me to be rich and happy.
That's why he brought me the MB SLK 230.
God love me, for you, so send me your donations and I'll speak to him about making you rich.
Amen,

We are all God, we each have our own idea of what rich means.

Traditional theology asks, "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?"
Prosperity theology counters with, "Why not gain the whole world plus my soul?" Or, God who loves you does not want you to be broke.

Mags, I agree 100%... we are all God.
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?"
Colin, you should know the answer to this.

I have no reason to believe he/she/it cares one way or the other.

Depends on what rich really means. Time would mean money but you can be rich in any number of things. Friends, love, blessings- yes I believe in God and his blessings but as for him making you rich, NO, he gives us the brains to make ourselves rich if he so wants it, thus the blessings. .

I don't think God cares about what you have. He is more interested in what you do with what you have.

"Does God want you to be rich?"
I believe He does. And He wants the rich to help those who are needy. I don't believe He ever meant for the GOVERNMENT to FORCE help from others though. I believe He wanted individuals to do so themselves.

How funny that kraftdinner and maggie think so highly of themselves...they believe THEY'RE GOD.
ROFLMHO at THAT one.
But it's really NO surprise they do.

Your true character is showing again, maggie.
Pity on you.
While the democratic party complains about everything THIS President does to protect our Nation:
What would a Democrat president have done at that point? Apparently, the answer is: Sit back and wait for the next terrorist attack.

If by being rich you mean have a large, healthy and loving family, loyal friends and good neighbors, then yes, I think God wants me to be rich. If you mean rich monetarily, than no He doesn't.

Still not able to grasp the concept, eh Linda? If God lives inside us then we are all God. That brings us back to the question of what can God do for you that you can't? The answer is simple - since God lives inside us, then there's nothing we can't do.
P.S. I believe God said that his sheep will hear his voice - that's why you're still not able to catch on.

She complains about not being able to post and contribute to the OTWA. Going on 2 months now.
Poor Linda. Forever a victim.
Absolute faith has been shown, consistently, to breed intolerance. And intolerance, history teaches us, again and again, begets violence.

The duty of a patriot in this time and place is to ask questions, to demand answers, to understand where our nation is headed and why. If the answers you get do not suit you, or if they frighten you, or if they anger you, it is your duty as a patriot to dissent. Freedom does not begin with blind acceptance and with a flag. Freedom begins when you say 'No.'
