Have you ever noticed how many of these people are long on theory but short on actual experience?
Financial advisors who have read all the books but never, ever put up a cent of their own money into anything.
Business advisors who have never actually ran a business?
Computor consultants that can write the most fancy, super whiz-bang prorammes that only they can understand but may as well be heiroglyphics to us mere mortals.
I'm sure by now you get my drift.
Thats why I come to these boards. The people here can give you the benefit of their ACTUAL experience. They've been there and done it. They've found what works and what doesn't.
Best of all they give their time and advice for FREE!
Thanks to all who take the time to help others.

bitsandbobs,

As you may have read here at Auction Watch I am planning on running for the President of the United States. I would like to ask for your help. I need two Foreign Affairs Advisors and I would like you to be one of them. I figure who would be better than Foreign Affairs Advisors who live outside the US. Care to join me...

mybiddness,

Right off the bat I can see I could use your help with writing slogans;

A VOTE FOR BARRY IS A VOTE FOR REASON AND A REASON TO VOTE

I like it, I like it, I hope I can use it, OK if I do?

bmurz,

I have been so busy with the B.A.R.R.Y. alliance and now my campaign for President that I have not had time to consider what some one with your skills could do for my campaign. If you can get gas prices down to 39 cents in the USA I know you will have one very big political favor coming your way...

Barry(Mr. President)Barris - 'course you can use it. I'll try really really hard to come up with more worthy slogans.

What is my title, btw. I'm thinking I should have a title.

BitsandBobs Thanks for allowing us to derail your thread a bit. It's vital business for the country, ya know.

kiheicat,

No doubt about it. I think I may have the right one for you. Would you consider being Governor of Hawaii? We will have the assistant Governor do all the work, you just enjoy life. BTW, there is a great retirement plan...

LOL again.

After that one I may have a title for you. How about

Senior Executive Titler and Sloganer to the Oval Office. It comes with a Limo.

Very disturbing developments from the Barry(What color's my limo)Barris Presidential campaign headquarters. He seems to be taking a low profile, non-committal response to my very simple query as to color of said promised limo. Could it be that there never really was a limo? OMG, I'm so disillusioned.

Durn - since I am a consultant - I guess that it is the "camps" for me under this new Barry administration.

But, I have shoveled a pile chicken (Ahem)deposits - I think that raising and being around them for most of my life does qualify me to rise to consultant after a while. After all, when you shovel CS for a living - what is a demotion involve??

Nutspec

Who is so totally politically incorrect (Gun collector - Military History writer - hunter - off road racing - carnivore )that he expects to be "re-educated" anyway if Gore wins.

mybiddiness,
As a senior minister in the cabinet it is my duty to tell you that El Presidente is currently meeting a senior foreign ruler.
All presidential limo's are currently in use transporting the visiting dignitaries to the Olympic Games.
All will be revealed later.

Whilst your credentials are superior to most consultants it may be that a refresher course in Bull**** will improve your chances of becoming Minister for Communications and Broadcasting.
Happy shoveling!!!

Hi bitsandbobs...yes, one can learn much from these forums, cant one? Positive things, for sure, but sometimes negative things. Like poor Shells friend, who picked her brain and then ran with all she taught her and backstabbed her to boot. I know of people like that. Sometimes, they take things given in faith, and then refuse to pay for it (in some form or another, whether it be monetary in value, or friendship value). But all in all...one can learn many good things here, and the posters who frequent and share their wisdoms

Hi maui.
Good to see you!
Wisdom is a tough thing to acquire. The getting of wisdom invariably causes heartache at some stage of its acquisition.

Barry(Mr. Prez)Barris,

Since I joined the alliance you owe me that political favor. I just can't decide between Secretary of Agriculture or Ambassador to Monaco. I'm leaning toward Monaco because it seems that some Agriculture Secretaries don't last through the office but then again I might make a very good VP.

Careful with the interns. The daughter is out there now and is loving it but ole Ma ain't too thrilled but realize it to be a great experience if all goes well. HUM!
