The following list just arrived in my email, along with a "double-dog-dare" to " Pass this on to anyone who may need a break from their "grown up" life"...And it struck me that many folks here could use a little break...So, I'm postin' it...and quite frankly if you don't like it, well Tough Nuggies!....I'm rubber, you're glue...whatever you say bounces off me & sticks to you!

T H I N K B A C K T O W H E N ...

Decisions were made by going ieeny-meeny-miney-mo."

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming,"do over"

"Race issue" meant arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "Monopoly."

Catching the fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening.

It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends.

Being old, referred to anyone over 20.

The net on a tennis court was the perfect height to play volleyball and rules didn't matter.

The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties.

It was magic when dad would "remove" his thumb.

It was unbelievable that dodgeball wasn't an Olympic event.

Having a weapon in school, meant being caught with a slingshot.

Nobody was prettier than Mom.

Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better.

It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the "big people" rides at the amusement park.

Getting a foot of snow was a dream come true.

Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare."

Saturday morning cartoons weren't 30-minute ads for action figures.

No shopping trip was complete, unless a new toy was brought home.(All parents need to pratice this.)

"Oly-oly-oxen-free" made perfect sense.

Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles.

War was a card game.

Water balloons were the ultimate weapon.

Baseball cards in the spokes transformed any bike into a motorcycle.

Taking drugs meant orange-flavored chewable aspirin.

Ice cream was considered a basic food group. (and STILL is as far as I am concerned!!)

Older siblings were the worst tormentors, but also the fiercest protectors.

If you can remember most or all of these, then you have LIVED!!!!

Yeah!!! I have lived! Sometimes I still spin myself around, get dizzy and fall down just to give myself the giggles.

A foot of snow....fireflies...God I'm home sick.
I haven't seen real snow in fifteen years.
When on the rare occasion we get flurries down here in south east Texas my phone starts ringing off the wall.
All my Texas friends call me to make sure I don't miss it because they know how much I long to see snow.(bless thier hearts)
We are going to New Hampshire and Vermont this October do you think I would be selfish to wish for just an inch or two of snow then?
I don't want to be greedy now.

How about getting ice cream from the truck that drove around with the funny music playing!

Or transportation was a bicycle and it could get you anywhere you wanted to go in your "world".

I could spend a whole day just walking walls. where I lived when I was a kid allmost everyone had cinder block walls in their backyards and it was fun to walk the tops of them. Also going weeks at a time without ever putting on a pair of shoes.

Rolling in freshly mowed lawn and seeing "things" in cloud formations from laying on your back in said freshly mowed lawn

cinder block walls Reminds me of rats in a maze.

I drove 6 miles today at 3pm without seeing another car.

Saw 2 porkys and a few deer and made close friends with a five lined skink on my door step.

I told that skink he could come back anytime.

A Hereford bull talking to his son passing along a bit of wisdom; "My boy as you travel down lifes highway don't forget to stop and eat the roses"

Actually that's a Gary Larson joke.
