When I was about ten years old and very bored on a rainy sunday my dad suggested I write a life list. He said to put down all the things I want to do in my lifetime.
I held on to that life list until it got lost in the last move while I was in the army.
I had completed all but a few of the items. Most of them were about travel and things like sky diving and scuba diving.
My dad died two years ago this November and I'd often wondered if he had a life list and if he did how many he had acomplished.
Since I thought it was about time I wrote down a new list I was just wondering, how are you all doing on your life list?
Did you ever make one?
Do you think writing down your goals really helps?
I know in business they don't take you seriously without a business plan (try getting a loan without one) what about a life plan?
I realize you can't plan for everything but does it help to have some fun things planned out to get over the hard times.
(As you can see being told you stopped breathing really gets you thinking about all the breaths you have wasted)

Hi Tegan Yes, yes, yes! I believe in making plans and plotting my future.

Of course, it doesn't always work out - but, I'm amazed at how often things come about because I put the energy, thought and planning into it. I'm a list maker from way back - I've found that if I don't take the time to do that then time just keeps slipping by and I can lose the window of opportunity.

I don't like the concept of just letting life happen - It's tough enough already.

TEGAN>>Your father must have been a very smart man!

I have never made a "life list" but certainly sounds like a good plan. I know that it would be part of visualizing your goals so that you can achieve them and I know that works!

I too am a list maker! I make a list of 10 things each night(or as I go along the day) that I need to do and so the next day I just mark them off as I achieve them. You would be amazed how much more I get done this way.
(Unfortunately I think for me this is because I don't waste as much time trying to remember what it was I was suppose to be doing!) If I don't achieve all 10, I just start my next list with those. But never put more than 10 items on the list or you will be so overwhelmed that you will do your darndest just to lose that list!
