Just a poem I wrote. Be gentle as critics, k?

Words were said that stabbed deep
Both sides lost and we both weeped.
We go back a ways and I miss what we had
Dont know if its possible to forget the bad.
Perhaps it is, if we both do try
To remember the good and not let it die.
You meant alot to me and this I sincerely mean
If I could go back, It would be a bad dream.
If we cant forget, forgive and let it go
It was never ours, And that just isnt so.
What we had was something to keep
And Im hoping the hurt has not gone too deep.
I miss you alot and think of you each day
And hope that it can be mended in some way.
I think of the good and not dwell on the bad
But each day, part of me is still sad.
This isnt a push and this isnt a shove
It's letting you know the friendship was love.
Words were said between us two
I can forgive and hope you can too.

Arent poems supposed to rhyme? Heck, how does one spell RHYM? Like I said, poet I am not. Now Diana is great...so is many folks who do it...but that always confused me...

edited to add one 'E'...still doesnt look right.

They don't have to rhyme, they kinda have to have a beat or something. I dunno how to splain, I never studied poetry.

Beautiful, Maui -

It's not the rhythm or meter that's most important, it's the depth with which you're able to convey your feeling using words.

Hang on to each other, you two...

D.

Late this morning, after I sleeped
I woked up, and here I peeped
And then did find, lo and beholdened
Poetry, and so, emboldened,
Decided to become a verser
Could be better, could be worser.
"Made up words!" a critic trounces.
But it all rhymes, and that's what countses.

A kind and gentle gesture maui. I do hope this is a step toward resolution for you both.

Of course poetry need not rhyme. I'd post some of my own, but it is often too dark. Pain fuels artistic expression like nothing else I've known, not even love.
Serendipity & Peace...
