Mybidness is out tonight doing a date and mentioned Home Depot.

May I just say upfront-I am the one that finds the smallest grocery store to run in and out of--Clothes shopping--never in years since yard sales and the Hanes Outlet Mail order Booklet.
Haven't seen the inside of a shopping mall in years. Who is TJ Maxx?

Now for the last four years or so--I am hooked up with an honest to goodness died in the wool shopper. Going to Lowes for a do-hickey---it will be hours before I see him again.

Going to Walmart for chicken--it's going to be an all day man hunt to find him in which aisle.

The absolute worst of all worst--is a Best Buys type of store. He peruses each and every aisle and looks at everything!! "Just window shopping!" is his pert reply. (GRRRR!)

Now on the other hand, plonk me into a flea market and he is the one tapping his foot and looking at his watch.

Not too much insight here--just my observations,

On this subject we agree.

I despise malls and clothes shopping and Super WalMarts. I am like an impatient child in a doctors waiting room, waiting for the hellish boredom to end.

I do like fleamarkets and antique malls tho, I could search those places for hours and hours.

Let me see, me and my husband always have a good time together at Home Depot. I guess that's what happens when you get a fixer-upper Besides, we have similar tastes when it comes to the house.

I usually only shop in one clothes store, but I have to try everything in that store on So he sits there bored to tears most of the time. But he is helpful and objective sometimes so that's why I drag him along. He doesn't shop much for clothes and he usually sneaks out by himself when he does. (Even though I can pick out the perfect tie without the shirt or pants with me )

When it comes to Best Buy, mine is like jeanyu's. He's in there for hours and I start whining, "can we go now??" LOL

jeanyu and kitsch I'm with you... I despise malls. I also don't like lollygaggying when shopping... no window browsing for me, thank you...I want to go in, get what I need, and get the hell out, lol
Been that way since I was a kid; my mom used to go to the stores and browse and find things she thought I might like, then she'd come home and get me and we would go in, I'd try them on, and we'd be done.
I did at least 90% of my Christmas shopping on eBay last year and it was WONDERFUL! Will be doing the same this year.
Hunting for my own eBay stuff has really more like a sport though and I try to outdo myself with how fast I can whip through my scavenging and load up a week's worth of items.

Love my husband dearly, but 20+ years of experience has taught me -- never take him shopping !! He hates the whole process. I am a go-for-what-you-are-after shopper (except antiques and flea markets--there all bets are off!), but he hates even quick trips. Lesson learned--there are loads of things we can enjoy together, but shopping just ain't one of 'em!

No, I'm not new to AW -- just took all of your advice and changed from my eBay id!!

The only shopping I enjoy at all is a "frantic shop" with my 14 y/o at the local supermarket. Take the shopping list, go at 11 PM, and (literally) run into the store, sprint up and down the aisles, throwing items up and down aisles to each other (sometimes even over the aisles), leaving things out to be picked up when the cart catches up to me, etc. The workers there know what to expect and get out of the way. (Once you've been whacked by a package of 30 rolls of toilet paper (there are 7 members of the female gender in my household) hurled madly towards a cart, you learn fast!

Our goal is to get home before we have left for the trip to start with. I could do that easily if I took the Enterprise, but lacking my starship, I'm still pretty quick in my minivan.

The older I get the more I hate to shop. I've taught my teenager to do all of the shopping for the family including groceries. She thinks this is my way of educating her on budgeting before she moves out on her own. Maybe so, but little does she know that I would gladly pay her just to avoid doing it myself. (We won't tell)

Shop? Whats that?

I used to have a killer wardrobe, but seems the older I get, the less I want. Now, all I do is wear sarongs, or those sport top workout bras and cheetah shorts. This winter, I will wear the same thing, but with Uggs boots, instead of flipflops (Im always hot flashin', so Im never cold). Hubby and I like antique shops and thrift stores to hang out in
