Things are starting to get hectic around here what with folks arriving and all. The bunkhouse is filling up and there's no place to park another motorhome. The kids are all here. The tamales are being made, the pig and the goat and even a goose have been dispatched and are hanging in the cooler along with this season's elk. The crowd is at 21 and counting, there'll be more for sure.
Figured I'd better wish everybody a happy Yule-Christmas-Hannukah-Equinox-Kwanzaa before it gets too nuts.

Yes, and Merry Christmas etc. to you and yours, profe. Wish we could eat some of that food; sounds wonderful. ~Adele

Oh well, another Christmas without a tamale. I'll be wishing I was there while I eat some kind of sto' bought beef or worse yet, a big bird.
May everyone celebrate whatever they love and have a happy holiday too!
And remember, when you cook your feast, to celebrate the exit of George W. Bush with a poem which his words inspired.
Make the Pie Higher
I think we all agree, the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of madmen and uncertainty
and potential mental losses.
Rarely is the question asked
Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the Internet become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?
They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish can coexist.
Families is where our nation finds hope, where our wings
take dream.
Put food on your family!
Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher! Make the pie higher!

Sounds like fun, prof! Our crowd gets smaller and smaller. This year we are doing very little. It's the first since mom passed and none of us feel like celebrating.
