My mother is visiting and we went out to lunch today. She dropped 100 bucks on lunch without batting an eye. This same woman not 2 hours later lost a dollar in a coke machine in front of KMart and had us all wait in the car while she took no less than 10 minutes to retrieve a dollar from the manager.
While we were waiting I chuckled at the irony and began to think of my own spending habits...I will go out of my way to pay top dollar for my special brand of Vanilla Macadamia Kona coffee that I can't live without, yet if there are 2 hamburger selections at the grocery store, 1 at 2.29 per pound and one at 2.27 per pound, I'm going to eke out every penny of savings I can and grab the cheaper one.
Just last week I stood in line at the grocery store behind a die-hard Coupon Connie who took all of her excellent savings out and plunked them in the trunk of her Mercedes!
It's funny how there are some things we don't mind paying for and some things that have to be the biggest bargain available or else, lol
