Hi, Just thought I would share this...hot off the presses from the consumer advocate Clark Howard's newsletter. It is a possible way to get help if you are ripped off.
1. Complain, complain:
What if you have a lousy experience with a business that cost you money?
Many of us just don't want to be bothered, or have the time to take
action
against a company. There are now companies that will do it on your
behalf at no charge, or for a minimal charge for basic services.
Here are some Internet-based companies that may help you resolve
a problem or a dispute:
- Complain at http://www.complain.com
- The Complaint Station at http://www.thecomplaintstation.com
- eGripes at http://www.egripes.com
- uGripe at http://www.ugripe.com
- Complainet at http://www.complainet.com
- iLevel at http://www.ilevel.com
Should you take on a company yourself, write a simple, one-page letter
and
be polite, clear and specific about what compensation you expect. If you
are
reasonable with your requests, you have a better chance of a reasonable
response. Expect that some companies won't care, but be persistent.
