Would love some feedback on success based on length of auction. I saw someone mention running 10 day auctions, listing them on Thursday so you get two weekends. I have been running 3, 5, and 7 day auction. Any assistance would be appreciated........thanks

Hi! Funny you should mention this. I don't have any input, but I have also been contemplating the 10 day auction thing. I think I am going to try it on tomorrows listings. I normally run them at 7.

I run 7 days, beginning and ending the same day... easier to remember... especially for return buyers who know that my auctions all end on Fridays and Saturdays.

I generally scatter my auctions so they will appear on more pages when a bidder is browsing. If I am listing 30 items, I will use MisterLister and split it into 3 batches of 10 items. Each batch is split into 3,5,7, and 10 day auctions. I release the first batch around noon, the second around 4 to 5 pm and the last at 9 to 10 pm.
This way, rather than having 30 consecutive items show up on one page, my listings are scattered over 12 pages.
As for which length pulls the most bids, there is no trend either way.

I also favor the 10 day auction. However I ensure that I release the next set of auction on the 8th day or so. That will make the buyer have the choice of hurry and bid this item or wait 10 days till the next. It keeps my auctions running continously too. Yes, take as many days as you can get. Auctions aren't cheap!

We sell a lot of used CD's; list them scattered thru Saturdays and Sundays for the first 7 days, then if we have any relists, we reevaluate on Wed/Thurs of the following week and run them for 10 days. My other stuff I run Sunday to Sunday; almost a year now and NEVER any outage problems if they end from 1-3pm EST. Lucky, Why, Yes
