Has anyone here read the novel "House of Leaves" by Mark Danielewski?

I met him yesterday at the Borders Bookstore in town where he was doing a joint presentation with his sister, the music recording artist Poe. It was very interesting. His book and her new CD are sort of inter-related and they talked about the creative basis of the book and CD in between songs and reading from the book. They had an interesting childhood and upbringing that strongly influenced their artistic endeavors.

Afterwards, they had a question and answer period, and later, they signed either the book or whatever else you wanted signed! They were very gracious and stayed much longer than planned.

I glanced through the book as I waited in line and it was very unusual. Today, I checked the Amazon site for reviews and was surprisedto see them talk about it as a "horror" novel. From the readings at Borders, I didn't get that impression. I'm picking up a copy at the library tomorrow and hope I can get through it.

So, anyone have anything to say about the book before I read it?

I don't get a chance to read much so can't comment on that book. But, isn't it fun to get to meet the author before you actually read his work? Years ago, my daughter got to meet the guy who wrote Goose Bumps (can't think of his name) I think it adds to the fun of reading the book.

Not paranoid anywhere else but here!
