I just got an email that I highlighted to delete and it immediately opened a window that covered my entire desktop with some form they think I'm STUPID enough to fill out. I had to ctrl alt delete to get it off my screen.
Who do you forward this kind of thing to? [email protected]????

Well I wanted to delete it from my delete items folder and it opened twice before I could get the damn thing gone. I wonder about a worm or something. I've never had an email do that before and I didnt think they could!

I got it too, kel. It was foisting some currency trading deal. I dumped it pronto!
There was a close window button at the bottom of the page. Never saw one like that before. I hope it's not a new trend.
I can't believe they'd do it if it weren't profitable, but I can't see how spammers really make money on such things. It just pissed me off.

I haven't seen that one yet. I'm with xardon though - that kind of spam would pish me off so much I wouldn't do business with them even if it was something I wanted.
Not paranoid anywhere else but here!

This sounds very similar to what I had happen a couple months ago. I used a search engine to look for big and tall clothing and one of the items that came up was a porno site when I clicked on it. I clicked on the close button at top right but new windows kept opening faster than I could close them until my computer froze up and I had to turn the power off. Ctrl-alt-del would not work.
The AW people here told me that it is Java scripts that allow them to do this but I did not know you could do them in e-mail. Why wopuld they think that is going to sell anything to anyone?
I read my e-mail in Netscape and as soon as you click on a message it is displayed in the window. It does not give you a chance to delete it before it opens it. Is there some way to change that?

We keep getting a spam selling some type of Viagra-type herbal supplement guaranteed to boost one's libido and ability to fulfil such libido. We've gotten it twice now, from different senders. I guess someone must think eBayers have low libido.

I was fishing around and found this neat link on the NONAGS site...looks good. This little goodie is supposed to kill the sites with a gazillion windows that won't stop...dunno if it will work for a weird email like you mentioned, Kel, but it's worth a try.
BTW, this site was recommended to me by abacaxi and is absolutely terrific...

I have reported you for the intrusive spam email you sent me. The one that
opened a window on my desktop with a java script. If I receive anymore spam
email from you, I will post complaints on every spamcop website that I can
find and notify any and all authorities concerned with this type of
unsolicited intrusive spam email.
