Any one watch the Diane Sawyer interview with Florida's sweetheart?

She actually said she doesn't really know who won the election in Florida! And, that if there was a full recount Gore might have won. Whaatt?

She also sounded peeved that Bush hasn't even contacted her. I guess she thought she was going to get a big thank you.

When it came to Jeb and her rumored affair she looked embarrassed and of course denied it. But, from what I hear there are going to be pictures of them that aren't too flattering. We shall see.

Oh well, if it's gossip you want:

"Forget about JFK, RFK, and Marilyn, the new hot story that's now at the rumor stage is Jeb, Dubya, and Katherine. One Tallahassee titillator, however, seems to be saying that Jeb is just the beard and is looking to hotel records for proof. "Jack McCarthy, a Friend of of CounterPunch, resident in Tallahassee, and erstwhile political columnist for the now defunct Florida Flambeau sends CounterPunch this bulletin from Ground Zero, concerning the rumor, now being intensely probed by some
newspapers and news weeklies, of intimacies between Governor Jeb Bush and Secretary of State Katherine Harris," write the editors of CounterPunch. McCarthy reported, ""I ran the [Jeb 'n Katherine] rumor by one well-connected capitol politico in Tallahassee, and asked him if he'd heard of the rumor. He said it's true that there's a congruence between Harris and the Bush family, but that it's W and Harris who for years have been trysting at National Governors' conferences. He believed that some Florida reporters have been comparing Harris' infamous travel schedule with W's. It seems the most promising lead was last year's National Governors' meeting in New Orleans, but they weren't able to nail down the hotel." Here they are, not even in the White House yet, and the Bush family is already in competition with the Kennedy's for the title of randiest presidential families, what with Pea Bush's troubles with the cops over his behavior at his girlfriend's house, John Bush's shocking episode in a parking lot mall (see below), and Jenna's troubles as reported below. Now let's get this straight, this behavior comes from the family that said it would bring dignity to the White House?"

Yep, that's pretty good gossip. But so far that's all it is rumors and gossip. That's why I said we shall see.

I was most interested in what she said about the recount, and wondering if she'll say more because she feels shunned by Bush and his gang.

Also, wonder what Bush thought about the interview.

It appears that Harris, a heiress with a
graduate degree from Harvard has been used
by the Bush brothers!

Wish I had seen that interview.

Just because she is highly educated does not mean she is smart. Clever, maybe, but not necesssarily smart.

But then I wouldn't think that keeping ahead
of George would require a lot of "smarts."

Has any of you been watching Dubya's body language? He always seems so unsure of himself, so much like a new kid on the first day at school. Heck, Jebby might have made a better President!

Body Language! Yea! Doesn't quite come across for the confident President type. Or maybe it is just a moving target thing!

Wasn't Jeb the one that was ear-marked to run for president til George elbowed his way in.

He didn't even think of running for Govenor til Jeb went for Florida?? Seems to be some sibling rivalry here....

There's a lot going on in that family that we won't know for years. I don't trust any of them. And what have they done with Neil?

forgive any sexism, but: my friend Richard Lewis, the comedian, once told a joke about how, as his mother got older, she seemed to get more careless with applying her lipstick. he said that from a distance her face looked like a big target. somehow, when i see the infamous Ms. Harris, i can't help but think about that joke. i also can't believe they got her to admit that Gore may have won Florida.

She's coming under fire, and trying to shift blame anywhere she can.

I watched part of it today. She did not look good. Like the article said she hardly answered any questions. What a difference in her demeanor today, compared to when she got up on the podium to stop the vote.

An anonymous but entirely reliable source reported that before the interview Harris was observed squinting dejectedly into a mirror and singing Chuck Berry lyrics under her breath:

Maybelline, why can't you be true?
Oh Maybelline, why can't you be true?
You've started back doing the things you used to do...

Apparently her confidence was shaken and the whole interview became purely cosmetic.

Ummm, Chocolate,

Two tourists were driving through Wisconsin. As they were approaching Oconomowoc, they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town's name. They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch. As they
stood at the counter, one tourist asked the waitress "Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please pronounce where we are... very slowly?

The girl leaned over the counter and said,

"Burrrrrr....... gerrrrrr.......... Kiiiing."

Harris will never give a convincing answer no matter how slowly she says it or how bright she thinks she is.

Sorry Ken if I'm just not getting it. I know I'm a little slow tonight. My excuse is my grandson went to the hospitol with 105 fever and I've been trying to keep up with my son's emails and just trying to keep busy reading the board. But I just found out his temp is finally down and he will be able to come home tonight.

yes, enchanted that's it. After the little guy came home from the hospitol (and was just throwing up all over the place)I went to bed. Then duh it hit me. I thought about what James said and the picture, and was laying there laughing at the joke and myself.
But, it wasn't worth getting out of bed to tell Ken "hey I got it". LOL

On the side, the bills for all of this election doctoring are rolling in now, payable by the taxpayers of the state of Florida.

http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/015/nation/Florida_tab_for_2000_election_at_3m_and_rising+.shtml

Shall we all give a special thank you to the residents (denizens?) of Florida for giving us this great show?
