Many of you asked (in a thread on ebay outlook) how I lost 141 pounds, so here is my story.

I am a female, 38 at the time, 294 pounds, about 5'2", and wear a size 28. I started in January 1999 on a doctor supervised diet using Health Management Resource products. I made 5 envelopes a day into shakes. I would take 3 vanilla with any flavor diet soda in the morning and 2 in the evening.

I eat real food, all my favorites including pizza, every weekend which is why it took me til April 2000 to lose the 141 pounds. But I did not want to feel deprived. I told myself that it was my choice and I consciously made the decision.

When I was fat, I eat unconsciously - not realizing I was even eating until I was in the process. Eatting was just something to do. That of course was before my ebay days. Now I have no time to eat! LOL.

EXERCISE! - They say is the key. During the diet time I walked at a normal pace M-F for a half hour at during my lunch (since I did not eat, I had to do something with the time).

Since April 2000 I have maintained my new weight within my range and wear a size 12 - 14 (depends, as I have discovered ladies sizes mean nothing). My low is 153. My range is 153-163. Never will I excede that again! Since a change in jobs, I have not been walking at lunch but I am still under the 163 pounds. The holidays were hard, food everywhere! I have lots of excuses not to walk- shopping for ebay stuff is what I normally do at lunch!

I still have the shakes in the morning since I am not a breakfast eater and this way I get 3/5 of my daily needs in the morning.

For more information about Health Management Resources you can go to http://www.yourbetterhealth.com/
Here in Denver the HMR diet is at Center for Health Management. In each city they operate under different names. They have many different programs types available.

So, that is my weight loss story. I would probably loss 15 pounds at least if I spent the $$$ for a complete body tuck.

Does anyone need a skin donation???

Good for you! Question - what kind of shakes did you drink? I've tried some of those diet shakes and they taste real bad... did yours actually taste good?

Thanks for sharing your story!

RichieRich - Congratulations on your successful weight loss. You were carrying another whole person around.

On the excess skin, check with your insurance carrier as the surgery to remove it may be covered. A friend of mine had breast reduction surgery, as the weight was causing back and shoulder problems for her. Her surgery was covered.

I have a cousin who, for most of her life was morbidly obese, weighing in around 350 #'s. She tried so many diets, even stomach stapling, but nothing worked for very long. She finally had 2/3 of her stomach removed. She has, over a period of three years, lost about 1/2 of her goal, but has had terrible health problems ever since the surgery.

Sounds like you're headed in the right direction as far as maintaining the weight loss goes. Continued success to you.

Actually the shakes are good. I did not like the chocolate or the chicken soup they have. At our Safeway supermarkets (the only place here I could find flavors) I get the store brand, 6 for $1.00, diet flavored soda. When you mix 2 or 3 vanilla with one can of diet orange you get a dreamsicle flavor and that is my favorite. There have a cherry, like diet cherry 7up, that makes it taste like cherry icecream! and the black cherry is great too! I like the diet cream also but I do not mix it with the shakes.

One time I mixed it with Lemon Crystal lite but it was way too lemony for me.

The give you a bunch of recipes- one is for brownies, never tried them.

As for pictures- before & after...I will have to see what I can find from before.

Thanks everyone for your good words!
