She had to put her kitty to sleep today . Hope this makes her feel better. (Kitty was ill and couldnt be helped).

She told me this morning. I feel so bad for her, too. But Im a firm believer that kitty is happily on its way to go play "swat the string and ball" with a very nice Man; healthy, happy and will be well taken care of

Oh geez, these threads always make me sad. I'm very sorry Oddish. VERY sorry. Been there, done that. My advice? Get a new kitty as soon as you can from the animal shelter. One that no one else wants. It will make you feel better, and the kitty will be oh so grateful.

I'm sorry for your loss. They are part of the family. I don't know about people, but I'm sure cats and dogs go to heaven. After all, it woulden't be heven without them.

Oddish...{{hugs}} to you and your family. It's always sad to have to say goodbye.
Don't know if you caught the local news story about our Humane Society burning down last Saturday night. We lost over 100 animals. Please keep these furry angels in your thoughts.

What a nice surprise on a day like today. Things didn't go well and to top it all off the ground was too frozen for me to dig a hole so I could bury him. I was so sad to think I would have to throw him away or something when this guy peeked over the fence and asked what I was doing. I said I'm trying to dig a hole so I can bury my cat (of course I was sobbing as I said this he probably thought I was nuts sitting outside cursing at a shovel and bawling like a baby)
He said don't worry about it I'll come dig it for you when I get done. And he did. I got to bury my kitty at home and then I come here to all you nice people.
Thank you for making a hard day a little easier

On a lighter side...while you were wrestling with the frozen ground and cussing at the shovel, Kitty was happily playing at the feet of the Man in the white robe, making runs in the woven material and scampering up and down His legs trying to get the string and ball he was dangling.

Sad to lose a kitty. So sorry ,Oddish.I have quite a few pets buried in the backyard.I miss everyone of them.My condolences.

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. We've made that very same decision for our first cat, a black and white male named Poncho. It was heartbreaking but the only choice to stop his suffering.
We've lost other pets since then, but for some reason his was the hardest loss of all.
I hope you find a new friend to share your home.

I don't know how I missed this thread. I am so sorry for you and what a wonderful man to dig that grave for your kitty.
We don't have cats but we do have dogs and they are just as spoiled as our children.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

Hi Oddish, I am new here and I want to say I am sorry for your loss...
Right before Christmas, my cat, Puss Puss, went in for a routine surgery to get "fixed"...long story short, he went into cardiac arrest in surgery and had to stay a few days after and eventually went into cardiac arrest again and didn't make it...I was heart-broken, so I feel your pain The worst part is, I am NOT a cat lover and simply took this cat in as a kitten cause he was homeless. I got so attached and was just crushed that he died! {{{hugs}}} to you!
Hard to tell, but they looked alot alike
