Hi everybody,
In accordance with the Moderation procedure outlined in the AuctionWatch User Agreement, the Moderator's Corner is no longer required. We will be removing it shortly.
Information regarding a specific moderation call or suspension is available to the affected User by contacting [email protected] There is a link to the Moderator's email in the lefthand navigation bar as well.
If you feel that a moderation policy issue needs to be discussed, please email [email protected] and if we agree, we'll open a thread in the Round Table.
Thanks!
Diana

Some people will be lost....nowhere to run.
And it should be noted that the reason that the MC corner is no longer necessary is that the moderation procedure has been altered to do away with both the warning and the appeal privileges of the membership.
Cute.

Shouldn't there be some sort of wake or memorial service?
(is that how you spell wake?)

If we pronounce "ou" like a "w" as in "oui", how about spelling it "Ouaque"?

Moderator, please WOMD this forum.

I normally would be kinda upset about any policy where we have to get PERMISSION from those who's moderation practices we want to discuss - (and perhaps take honest exception to).
"I want to open a thread about why you don't allow us to talk about ________ "
"The subject is not open to debate. We don't wish it to be discussed - do not open a thread on the subject or it will be deleated and will put your posting ability in danger"
But I just don't really care that much about this place anymore to get that upset.
It is SO much less than it used to be - I like and respect just about everbody that's still left here. But it's like the colors fading on an old photo. Bland

If you feel that a moderation policy issue needs to be discussed, please email [email protected] and if we agree, we'll open a thread in the Round Table.
Is this a punishment because we complained about the now-reversed policy change regarding auction links?
What you've done is taken away our freedom to create a moderation-related thread when we feel one is warranted. Now we have to get your permission first, and you get to decide whether it is warranted. How many legitimate concerns will be dismissed because the AW moderation staff doesn't feel they are warranted? How many threads will Marty be okaying?
AW giveth, AW taketh away.

Watch closely...I have a feeling that it is only one of many changes coming.
Can't discuss sellers/buyers, can't publically address a moderator, I wonder how long it is going to be until only the paying customers are allowed to post.

Spaz and Reddeer, good work. NOT!
So not only are we not allowed to discuss eBay auctions in the EO - no longer an option to invite sellers - but moderation issues will be discussed in plain view of the inmates of the RT. LOL!
Wow, what kind of alternate reality did I wake up in this morning?
Let's just appoint KRS official Lord of Moderation and get on with the freaking circus act.

spaz,

I understand your position and it is valid. However, it's part of a Moderator's job to make those determinations. Mostly, we do a pretty good job.
How many legitimate concerns will be dismissed because the AW moderation staff doesn't feel they are warranted?
Again, I believe we do a pretty good job of taking your (the inclusive your) concerns seriously. I think our track record shows we are willing to listen and we're willing to answer legitimate questions.
In short, our members are important to us and we will be as accomodating as possible.
How many threads will Marty be okaying?
That was uncalled for. Please don't go there.

Whatever happened to address the post, not the poster? As I see it, twinsoft has made disparaging remarks about specific posters, not to mention the entire portion of the membership who uses the Round Table forum.
Bad form, twinsoft.

was insulting to our Moderation staff and uncalled for. Please do not go down that road.
Jugghead,
As you can see, we're still here. I don't think the removal of the Moderator's Corner will eliminate the need for Moderators.

Pat,
As recently as a week or so ago, I had the experience of watching AW admin turn a deaf ear to what I considered a legitimate concern (re: the Irish Humour thread). That was hard to swallow. But to add insult to injury, I had to sit by and watch a Moderator (joice) publicly scoff at the concerns I had expressed in the thread in question, and then, to my disbelief, even encourage further posting of the type of humor I found offensive.
I have no qualms with you, pat. But if my faith in the new system is lacking, I hope you understand why.
