While I'm here... I do not like W at all, but last I checked the economy started dropping during Clintons watch. I live in Detroit, and can attest to the dramatic slowdown in the auto industry since May of 2000 - a sure indication of trouble ahead. (Unless of course the elections are near - then all is well)

Funny, how our "oil allies" never needed the extra oil price increases until the Clinton Economic Boom was sure to doom the republican presidency. Seeing as how the Bush Oil Empire extends into Kuwait and the rest of the region, I'm more inclined to suspect the republicans of rigging this economic recession in order to win the election. I base this on the fact that six months after Ronald Reagan became president, the GOP admitted that they had bribed Iran to keep holding onto our embassy hostages long after they were willing to cough them up in an effort to make Jimmy Carter look bad (which it did).

Hell no, he doesn't want a 300.00 rebate. He wants to give all
wealthy americans making over 800,000 a tax cut of 60,000 EACH. Having money left for
welfare programs is out of the picture.
I am so tired of seeing his propaganda picturing the poor strugling
middle class family with a tax burden as his focus. The Bush plan is EXCLUSIVELY
for the rich and it's a LONG term plan.

HJW; Example: 10% of $10.00 is $1.00 while 10% of $1000.00 is $100.00. I used these round figures for a reason: should the person who makes the $1000 be penilized because he/she (must be pc here) makes more money? Everone who has to pay should get a break. And the economic slowdown was caused by Greenspan raising the rates 4 times in 3 quarters, all the while knowing that it usually takes 2 quarters for a rate increase to show up. I do believe the worst is yet to come...
In the begining, God created the heavens and the earth.

...and the more damage he can do. For example, with the focus on
taxes, we are fairly safe because most people know what is forthcoming
but if the subject is international relations, we may need some
major damage control.

My response to that is, prove to me that the top 1% of American taxpayers actually paid 43% or more into the coffers!
If it can be proved that the top 1% of American taxpayers did in fact pay 43% or more into the treasury, then I'll support Bush's efforts on handing $688,000,000 of the 1.6 trillion tax break back.
So, ddicffe, why don't you go do ALL conservatives and republicans a favor and go find the proof to shut up all us progressives? I would love nothing more than to know the truth of the matter.
Until then, it is a $688,000,000 Hand-Out to the rich!

What's this about? An official Bush spokesperson said he will not, never, ever hold press conferences. After he makes any statements he will not take questions. He will say what he has to say and leave immediately.
Duh! They finally figured out he can only read what is scripted for him. He's too dumb to answer questions, because he can't think on his feet, and remember what he was told to say.
I'm not sure, but won't he be the first president not to hold press conferences?

That's because when Bush talks without a script he winds up saying something like this:
"But the true threats to stability and peace are these nations that are not very transparent, that hide behind the—that don't let people in to take a look and see what they're up to. They're very kind of authoritarian regimes. The true threat is whether or not one of these people decide, peak of anger, try to hold us hostage, ourselves; the Israelis, for example, to whom we'll defend, offer our defenses; the South Koreans."—Media Roundtable, Washington, D.C., March 13, 2001
Having that man responsible for international relations scares me.
