Since I'm Irish, I could give a rat's ass what the Brittish think. They should clean up their own filthy backyard before criticizing anybody else.

Hmmm Hardoutfit, your post sounded critical. Double standard or do you have a very clean back yard?

So some marginal politician nobody's ever heard of gets his name in the paper by shooting his mouth off. Happens all the time.

Didn't the senate vote against ratifying the Kyoto pact by a 95-0 margin at one time in a non-binding resolution?

Evidently Dubya's force of personality is so great that he can command 95% of the Senate to acceed to his wishes.

Personally I am very fearful of Bush's Administration and all that has gone on in the few weeks since he took office. There isn't any way to feel comfortable with the changes he is implementing. Can he be impeached for idiocy? Exactly who is holding the puppet strings? Bush himself is not coming up with all this on his own.

Funny that you should mention impeachment, ktsclutter. How did that go now? Something like, "Treason, High Crimes and Misdemenors"?
What is TREASON? Or rather, when it is against Whom, then is it concidered Treason? Is it only Treason when these crimes are committed against America? What is, then, America? Is "America" the rock and soil? Is it the trees and waterways? Is it Commerce?
NO, IT'S NOT!
America is its citiziens, its people. America is made up of human beings who depend upon their government to do the right things to help protect them and to help them from Interests that would take advantage of them and to destroy their lives -- NOT the other way around. With Bush hurrying so fast to act in Big Industy's interests instead of our own, I say that quali\fies him as having COMMITED TREASON!
>>GASP!!<<
Borillar! Are you saying that just because legistlation is pased that acts in the worst interests of the American people, that this somehow translates to an ACT OF TREASON?
Yes.
How else would YOU define it?

Borillar - Might be needing more coffee right now, but are you saying Bush is now actively committing treason against the American people and therefore is presently subject to impeachment? I still cannot believe that the man is bright enough to commit these acts on his own accord. Who is holding the strings?

Hmmmmm. I find myself wondering how many of the folks now complaining bitterly about Bush - and I'm among them, though neither suprised by his actions, nor particularly bitter - chose to support that egomaniac, Ralph (holier than thou) Nader?
In Florida, they ultimately cost us the election.
