Thank you guys.....
thing is.... ok..... someone just wrote (in all caps, I guess pretty pissed) that she won
the auction, and it says 100 ml, I put in the ad 100 ml, AND I put 5 oz. She claims she got less than 4 oz.
My mind is mush this morning. Borillar, so what your saying is that its a bit more than 5 oz? or am I getting all this backwards?

You might try and argue that since you were only 32% off you will be generous about it and refund them a full 1/3 (33.3%) of their payment back to them, and accept the 1% loss.
ok here's the thing. Is there a difference, told you my mind was mush! but would there be a difference in .....OK a gel, ok TOOTHPASTE in oz vs ml? because as you all know, toothpaste is not a liquid, well the stuff I had is not anyway help.......

Well, toothpaste would probably be in grams and ounces (at least my toothpaste is). Even using grams & ounces you'll still come up short. 100 Grams equals 3.5274 Ounces.

With milliliters and fluid ounces you are dealing with volume. With grams and ounces you are dealing with weight.

uaru-I've been checking every bottle and tube in the house ! LOL
I know, wierd, toothpaste, but this was discontinued, (company went bankrupt, we got it from a distributor)
It looks like a regular size tube, all the other ones I have here like Arm & Hammer Dental Care does say 6.3 oz next to it says 179g then Crest which looks like the exact size says 8 oz and next to it says 225g.

Sorry there just isn't a formula to convert milliliters to ounce, or grams to fluid ounces. The specific gravity of the product comes into play and makes it impossible to make such conversions.
They do have a formula to covert fruit believe it or not. You should try that and see how many apples convert into oranges. It will help you out this morning, trust me.

LOL!!!! I actually did the apples and oranges thing....
hmm, well if the conversion can't be made... and they put 100 ml only, could this be the English (or European) way they do it.... hey I'm reachin here......

NearTheSea, in the tube there are 100ccs or mls of toothpaste. The weight of the tube makes up what you're getting on your scale. In the hospital, 30 mls or ccs = 1 fluid oz.

Your right, my brain is in super low gear
mg would be milligram.
I could go on to justify weighing it and total weight of tube and what is in it, by my scale is 5 oz, but I think I'm reaching here.....course, then too, they could have marked it wrong..... reaching again

No I don't think its shipping weight. I believe its Net Weight if that makes a difference.
Problem is, I'm a wreck. This was just one person. I tried to be as accurate as I could be in the description, including putting 100 ml in it. But I sold cases, and *if* anyone else complained on this, I would be out refunding close to $1000.

uaru-I think I have this thing figured out!
I've obsessed on it, and got an email from buyer, who btw, used the line 'I am a Christian woman' twice. (what that had to do with it all, is beyond me)
She told me it was her husband who 'did the conversion' and of course came up with the same you all did on 100 ml vs oz.
I had already refunded her, she bid and won this, when I started, by auctioning it, and won at $10.50 for 4 tubes, exact priority shipping was $3.95 (and that was no packing materials, as they fit perfectly in a video box)
She actually wanted to buy more, HOWEVER, she wanted 30% off.
I wrote her back, said forget it. And that it is in NET WEIGHT and not GROSS weight.
All our tubes in U.S. say NET WEIGHT in ounces first, then the gram weight.
Ok ok I'm got obsessed with this. I told her to do a search on that name, and there is another seller selling it, and that maybe that seller could give a more accurate description (I doubt it, as he is giving in ounces too)
I'm holding off on selling more, it was doing really well (almost too well) but this
has taught me a lesson in the metric system for sure
And thanks all, esp. for the apple and oranges converter!! LOL
