OK ... so we only got rich in laughter on this one ...
My brother, an avid train buff, was in town for the holiday (and Mom's birthday). Digging around a garage he found his only purchase of the day .... a box of old cassette tapes - 6 of which were train sounds. (The kind you use with layouts to make it sound like the trains are real.)
Well, he immediately plugged it into the player - turned up the sound - and gave us the most interesting ride of our lives. The children were going crazy ... passing drivers couldn't figure out what was going on.. and in some instances I have to admit I nearly forgot I was in a van and not a train!
Needless to say, my brother is a very happy camper this weekend. Now his 2 hour daily commute to work will be a whole lot more fun!

Must have been the weekend for it. I found a video of tropical fish swimming - so the tv set looks like a fish tank. I had to have it whether it sells or not. (I'm also a fan of the yule log at xmas.)
The trains sound like a trip - I can imagine many pranks as a result - dawdling pedestrians in parking lots comes to mind first.

My Mother watched as the car ahead of them got hit by a train and torn in two as a child and was always nervous crossing a track. Once when I was about 8 I thought it would be funny to cup my hands around my nose and make a Breeeeepp - noise like a Diesel locamotive horn as we were crossing. I got very severly punished. My sense of humor has not improved much though.

The train tapes and fish are excellent finds!
My best find this weekend was a $4 Furby.
I know, you are are asking, "What's so cool about that?" I've always wanted one.
I've been going ga ga over the little thing feeding it and playing with it. My dogs HATE it! He's sleeping on top of my monitor now, right next to the lime green pixie and gargoyle that live up there too.
I tend to buy for myself as much as to sell at garage sales!
