Here is a notice they have up, I just saw it this morning, could have been there for quite awhile. I switched my email provider about a month ago in frustration with the mess at mail.com. Hopefully they'll straighten out their problems but I'm only using my account there as backup and ezine address now. Just too much annoyance and non-response 'response' replys from them.

We are aware of the problems you have been experiencing with your e-mail service and we apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We know that your e-mail is important to you and we are working around the clock to restore service as quickly as possible.

What is going on? In an effort to bring you a higher level of service we are upgrading all e-mail accounts to an entirely new system. Unfortunately, this process is very slow, as we need to move all e-mail messages and Address Book entries for all members. We appreciate your patience while we complete this process. We remain confident that you will be happy with the new service once the upgrade is complete.

What should you expect? Delayed transfer of messages - depending on the size of your current mailbox, you may experience a delay in seeing all your old mail on the new system. (e.g. previously received messages in your inbox or other folders.) Additionally, you may experience a delay in seeing all of your Address Book entries. If you experience more than a few days of delay, you may contact customer service at [email protected] for help. Please note: Your information is safe - it is not lost

Delayed delivery of new mail - we know there are delays in receiving new messages. This is a symptom of the heavy traffic going through our mail systems while we upgrade all accounts to the new version. This is a temporary problem and will be resolved as soon as possible - it is a top priority.

Customer Support To reach customer service, please send an e-mail to [email protected].

We truly appreciate your patience during this upgrade. We know how frustrating it is not to have full access to your e-mail. Thank you for your understanding - we are doing everything feasible to complete this process as quickly as possible.

Sincerely,
The Mail.com Team

I know...I've had the same problems. Apparently they "upgraded" the service. I've already told them that I'm just not seeing it. Of course, nothing but canned responses. I got mine through a sports site, and I've contacted them. Got what appears to be an original response from the NHL that they've had lots of complaints about mail.com, and are looking into it. Maybe a kick in the e-pants from a big client like the NHL will get them to get their act together.

Good luck to you...

I'm impressed that they've actually sent you a response... even automated is better than the NOTHING they've sent me. My account with them went down about a month ago and has been sporadic ever since. I've sent them three inquiries from another email address but haven't received a response. I lost all emails and my entire address book which hasn't been restored. I've used their service for almost two years without a single problem until now. But, when they bomb... they really bomb. Thank goodness I don't use their email to conduct my business with or I'd really be in trouble.

Good luck... I'm about ready to give up on them.

Not paranoid anywhere else but here!
