lifsablur had a thread about supplying contact info to third parties by e-mail in the eBay Outlook and many warned him it could be a stalker seeking it. I had this experiance and would like to hear yours.

In our community there is a business owner who became infatuated with a woman
who owned a small retail business in town and she did not want his attentions. He
stalked her and started vandalizing her cars and boat outside and eventually graduated
to busting into her house and store.
That shows you how sicko these people are that he thinks hammering holes in her boat
is going to make her accept him into her life.
Two things happened - He went to prison for almost a year for refusing to stop - and
she had top pack up and disappear losing her business and I am sure spending a great
deal of money.

What bothers me is that he is still well regarded in the community. I just had someone
try to get me to do business with this twit and when I said I don't want anything to do
with a nut case like that it was like I was such a harsh nasty person - HELLO??? The person said well he always treated ME fine and that's all I care about.
Am I nuts to not want to support a slimeball
that I figure is just between obsessions and will soon find another person to torment?

No, you're not nuts. Heck, I stop supporting local businesses if their help is rude to me. I certainly wouldn't do business with an abuser of women!

I think people look the other way because it's easier for them than taking a stand, or voicing an objection. Or maybe it behooves them financially.

Gravid,

Not only do I agree with you, I would educate the customer as to why I would not be associated with them.

I guess I should not be surprised if a small town acts like that when the whole country of Afganistan is doing a pretty good job ignoring how they are treating women.

I just read that on top of all music/ pictures/cards/picnics/pet birds/picnics/short sleeved shirts/board games /cameras/ and of course women going outside the house they have banned paper bags. Paper bags????

It's terrible how people compartmentalize.

If Joe "is a real nice guy" and Joe is "also a stalker" then guess what -- Joe isn't a nice guy!

Isn't this compartmentalizing james? Couldn't it be possible that Joe is a nice guy that's a stalker?

Not to take away from the topic gravid, which I agree with you on.

Gravid-
First instincts are usually correct. You will do well to steer clear of this character. And probably sleep better because of it!

All stalkers should be put together on an island with no way off so they can stalk each other. Then they can find out what it feels like. Stalkers are the scum of the earth. I don't care how nice they are otherwise!

Thanks -You guys kind of assured me I was not being too picky. I really could not sit and work with this guy - I would have been sitting thinking about him pounding holes in this woman's boat with a hammer instead of our business.

If yours is a brick and mortar business, you do not have to do business with this stalker. When he walks in, merely state that he is not welcome there, that he is trespassing on private property, and he is to leave immediately or you will call the police.

Worked for me here in PA!

The idiot returned - he was stalking one of my clerks - and a member of our police force was renting movies. I told him, he told me to call 911 for backup, the guy called him a "Pig" OOPS - and got the crap beat out of him.

Needless to say, he NEVER returned to my store!

I LOVE MY TOWN !
