I have a precious new kitty, had her for two days now, just can't think of a good name. I have not owned a cat in 25 years but after lurking on this board and hearing all of you cat lovers chat about your cats it brought back ole memories of my old cat Thomas.
Anyway, I have this precious lil kitty now that needs a name. Suggestions please......

Do you have a picture or can you tell us what she looks like? Does she do anything kooky? (My kitten jumped around like she had springs in her feet, so we named her Pogo ) Is she a spaz or laid back?

I usually let the names come to me. When I adopted my (now) very senior dog, his name was Andy, which I didn't like at all. One day we were walking, and he lifted his leg at a fire hydrant and almost toppled over. Out of habit, I said, "Smart move, Einstein." And Einstein he's been ever since.
My cats all have names from tv series: Scully, Grasshopper (old Kung Fu), and Potus (an acronym used once on West Wing for President of the US).
Good luck, and congrats on your new kitty. I think cats are just one of the coolest things the planet has on it.

She's gray, not a tabby but sorta furry. She is a very active little thing. Her mother is a stray in my daughter's neighborhood. All of the neighbors feed this cat and her babies. The kittens were born up under a shed, this is where they stayed until the old mama cat brought them all out one day.
This kitty likes to sleep in dark places, not the place I chose for her to sleep. She likes to get up under the china curio or anyplace in the dark. I sure hope she out grows this. I can't keep up with her.
My two little granddaughters came over yesterday to play with her and we could not find her any place. She's very elusive.
This morning my dh said we've got to name this kitten, but I'm just brain dead. He suggested Sam for Samatha. I said nah, so I've got to come up with a name or this cat might be called Sam.

Warning, I'm really tired and I'm racking my brain too.
Slinky (gray and slithers into small spaces)
Mushroom (sleeps in dark places
Fuzzy (I know, kinda dumb)
Silver
Mist or Misty
That's all I can think of now, I'm sure I'll have more later! Oh, and it took us like a month to name Pogo, and I also asked the board for suggestions. Good luck!

I have a grey kitty named smokey, but sometimes he's Smoke, Buddy, Jackass, or sweetie... depending on what kind of hell or not he's raising...

Luna.
Roman goddess of the moon, related to old chemical term for silver, root of "lucere," to shine. Also short for "lunatic," which may come to mind if she streaks madly around the house at night, as so many of them do.
Felicitations on your newfound felinity,

Feral and semi feral kitties come around in time.
My one cat Mimi is a dinky siamese and she was a little feral baggage at first. She put the screws on the big boys and they might as well serve her bonbons on a pillow for as much as she owns them. Sigh.
Now she has bonded to me pretty amazingly.
Could call her Katherine, Kitty for short.
Mimi named herself.
I just called different syllables together and she liked the Meme Meme sounds a lot.

Do you remember the t.v. show Lavern & Shirley? Well, I named my cat after Shirley's stuffed cat, Boo-Boo Kitty. A fine upstanding name, at that!

We had a tiny grey fuzzy kitten like that. She was always emerging from under whatever she had hidden beneath with dustbunnies clinging to her very long whiskers. (Her name was Cleo.)

Hey Becky, Did Lemeow hide during the playoffs too? (JK!)
Really, I think that's a great name! Being a huge hockey fan myself in Dallas Stars land, I name all my animals (even the rescues) after Stars players. But unless we sign some new players this summer, I'm gonna have to start using other teams. Lemeow is gonna be the first!
