If you were being stalked by a fellow poster holding a really dumb grudge, what would you do?

Say this person is following your family, friends and you around from board to board harassing you with old statements you or they made and old statements he made. The person is also telling lies and tries to condone it by making up excuses as to why he's (generally speaking "he" )doing this.

What would you do? The person also has trolls (could be the same person) following with insults.

edited for typos.

If this is happening to you or someone you know mtnmama.....YUCK!!

I would call the police and ask them what you should do. I would imagine you should keep copies of everything sent to you and anyone involved, including full headers.

The police can track down where these emails were sent from and the person can be charged with harrassment.

Good Luck

Oh the person won't do it in email. It's done on chat boards all over the place. I don't even have to be there! The person just cuts and pastes everything I've ever said. LOL!

I expect the person would be here, but is afraid to be suspended!

Have you tried contacting the board moderators to get him/her to stop or remove them from the boards?

Did this come from an argument you had with another poster or just because they picked you to pick on?

Well, you could call your lawyer.

A few things I would NOT do if I were being 'stalked':

I wouldn't have 'friends and family' brag about my dogs and guns.

I wouldn't have my 'friends and family' continue the issue (and I'd suggest to them not to post on boards where my 'stalker' was *already* posting).

I wouldn't bring this issue to *another* board (bad form posting where someone else can't, wouldn't *you* say? )

I wouldn't make contradictory statements in the same thread (or hell, the same post) as it makes it much easier for a 'stalker' to prove their point.

I wouldn't throw around the term 'stalker' and then make a point of calling said 'stalker' out.

This is, of course, only *my* opinion, yours will most likely differ. Also, these are just things *I* wouldn't do if I were *actually* being stalked.

If I was being "stalked" I would change my ID and lay low for a while...

Well, if it were me, I probably wouldn't go to another board where the alleged "stalker" was posting, engage him in debate, tell him I'm also posting at that same time at AW and challenge him to come here and post. And then post this thread so he could see it.

So, how many chatboards is this particular fight going to continue on? I've counted 4 (or is it 5?) boards already but I may have missed a few.

Irene

Why not ask the two posters GBS1 and Lotsafuzz because they know more than I do it seems.

Well, moderators you can lock up this thread now. I see some of the stalker's groupies have come here to voice their opinions together.
