Hi - I would like to start including some language in my ebay listings to explain that people paying me via PayPal will need to do it without paying by credit card. I am fuzzy on the details, though.

I know they can do a simple transfer out of their existing PayPal balance (if any). But if they need to put money into their balance to do a transfer, how do they do that? I remember that PayPal started encouraging customers to somehow fund their accounts via bank transfers (?) but I didn't find information about that when I checked the website. Do they need to have verified their bank accounts to do this?

thanks for any advice -

Keziak

HI keziak,

In order for a user to add funds to their PayPal account from a bank account they would need to be verified.

They can go to the add funds tab to add money to the account and they can also do the instant ach process. Echeck is also available for users that want to pay using a bank account.

Hope that helps.

Keziak, get over it! Dump PayPal and move on. There are other services out there that are free. I'm using ExchangePath and am so far delighted. I've had no problem getting my buyers to *trade up,* so to speak.

It makes no sense to me why people would hang on to a service that no longer works for them. Trying to hobble together workarounds for their deficiencies is a frustrating waste of time, IMO.

Like I said, trade up.

CleverGirl, are you stupid? Those other "Free" services you are talking about are only free because they are trying to gain market share. In the long run (a few months from now) none of these services will be free, because it's impossible. You should pick the best service. Not the one that's free, because none of them will be.

JK -- LOL. No, I'm not stupid, but thanks for asking.

Yes, I fully expect that there's a strong possibility (probability?) that at some point these other services will also start charging.

HOWEVER, I didn't close my PayPal account because of the fees -- tho I might eventually have closed it for that reason alone because I really can't afford the fees myself at the moment. Nor do any of their added *features* interest me.

I closed because of what I refer to as their *questionable business practices.* And you can be certain that the INSTANT I get a whiff of anything like that from any of the other 3 services I signed up with, I'll be outta there in a heartbeat too.

I AM expecting, though, much better customer service, much better business ethics, less chicanery and duplicity, and certainly less arrogance from the others. And when they're ready to start charging, I'm also anticipating I'll be ready to start paying. I'm not philosophically opposed to fees -- but I am philosophically opposed to bad business. In the meantime, I don't have ANY of the headaches any of the remaining PayPal users have. It's very liberating.

I think that CleverGirl already has picked the best service, or at least she has dumped the worst one (depending on how you wanna look at it)...
