Is anyone out there in auction land having a problem with exchange path? When Pay-Pal started charging i opened an account with ex change path. what a mess. They sent me a notice that money had been sent for one of my auctions so i mailed the package. that was a big mistake. the money has never been deposited into my account with exchange path so i e-mailed them four times and called them on the phone and they told me all was o.k. but the money has never got into my account. Help, IS ANY ONE OUT THERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM? AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED THEY CAN STICK THEIR SERVICE!!!!!!!

Whatever the online payment service, never, never, never mail out an auction item until you are satisfied that the payment has been credited to your account.

E-mail headers are easy to forge.

Not to say that happened here, but auction sellers should always be alert to the possibility.

First, check that email carefully and see if it says anything about opening an account to claim it. I have had a few payments get sent to the wrong account.
EP always puts a link in the email which takes you to that account. Is there a link in that email? If not, it might be a forgery.
My email forwards to another ID. I got an email telling me about a payment and when I went to my account it wasnt there. I called EP and it turned out that it went into a different one of my accounts because when I clicked the link, it somehow accepted the payment for me but brought me to the sign up page where I signed into the "regular" account. But I did receive the money, just in a different account.
So far, the only problem I have found with EP, which is no longer an issue, is that I never got most of my referrals.

The problem could be the buyer used the wrong email address. If your account's email was .net and the buyer sent it to .com or vice versa you'd get a letter saying someone had paid you and you need to sign up to collect it. With ExchangePath you can't add a second email, or change the one you've listed so contact the buyer and ask them if the payment can be canceled. If they can cancel it they sent it to the wrong email address. I know this is confusing, but you can still get a notice even if they've used the wrong email address, I tried it myself.

Only problem I have had with ExchangePath:
They will send an email saying they will credit your account by 5pm the next day and nothing happens!
Of course this was referral and bonus money owed, but still it was money promised.
Wonder why they even advertise referral money when they make it so difficult to collect thru
an auction? A customer clicking your ExchangePath auction logo doesn't give you the referral!

I have started to use PayPlace and so far
like the fast service. Especially the auction
logo which puts your name on the customer's sign up form. Now just hope more customers will use PayPlace in place of PayPal.

PeanutBob!

Go to Billpoint! They have actually indicated that your type of situation is a problem! Apparently, this has happended before. I have always checked my account, even with Paypal, to see that the money is actually there. Anyone can copy an e-mail.

A copy of the Alert from Billpoint:

Dear Billpoint Seller:

Billpoint has received a handful of reports from sellers receiving suspicious-looking confirmation emails. Upon further investigation, Billpoint identified fraudulent seller confirmation notices, that erroneously indicated payment to a Billpoint seller. Please note that you should use your My Billpoint Account Summary or Sales History pages as the official source to confirm your paid orders.

Please report any suspicious activity to ######dotcom.

The eBay Billpoint Team

Hope this information is helpful to all who have taken the time to read it. Thank you.

I've just started using ExchangePath and so far have found it easy to use and haven't had any problems.

I did try to register with PayPlace but they insist that my e-mail address is invalid and won't complete the registration process. I even tried using my hotmail.com address ( that was invalid too.) I guess this means my sister won't be able to e-mail me anymore because I don't have a valid address.

After emailing exchangepath about my missing referrals, they gave me the balance of the full $100 allowed. Right on, Exchangepath!
