I am going to be making a large purchase through paypal next week, and I was wondering if it is possible to pay partialy with my credit card and partialy with my bank account. The reason I need to do this is because the ammount I will be spending is higher than my credit limit on my credit card. I know I could send 2 different paypal payments, but I would rather do it all in 1 payment(1 of paypal's fraud tips is, don't accept 2 paypal payments for 1 item).

What you can do is add funds from both your bank account and your credit card to your PayPal account to bring the PP balance to the level needed to make the purchase.
Whether it would be wise to pay for a pricey item with PayPal is quite another story and only you can make that decision (it seems as if you already have).
Edited because I may have mis-spoke...
I don't think you can directly "fund" your PayPal account with a credit card without a transaction being involved. But you can put what isn't available on the credit card into the PP account from your bank account and when you do the transaction the balance will be taken from the credit card. I think. If I'm incorrect I'm sure someone will straighten me out...

That sounds about right, abingdon. Just make sure that you actually see your PayPal account with a positive balance in the amount you sent via a transfer from your bank account before you push the send button on the auction payment, however.
