When is it "safe" to assume that a credit card payment has gone through and won't be charged back if the buyer's acct. is over limit or something?

The only was to protect yourself against chargebacks and "reverse deposits" from Paypal is to request checks for payment, then once the check clears they have no recourse against you. The cannot reverse a deposit to your bank account if you never let them make one to begin with, and they cannot charge your credit card because someone elses charge was disputed.
It takes a about two weeks to get a check, but at least you know its yours to keep. That is the only way we have or ever will do business with paypal. So far one check had to be reissued and it took a month from start to finish, but at least I don't have to worry about them dipping into my bank account by reversing a previous deposit.

MrJim: Thanks a million for that tip. It makes perfect sense. That's definitely what I'll do in the future. I haven't had any trouble so far, but from what I've read, it's likely just around the corner!
