I don't think I have seen Paypaldamon lately but if he or anyone else reads this please respond ASAP.
Paypal is really keeping me on my toes. First I decide they might take all my money so I pull the logo's and stop accepting them except when customer's absolutely insist.
Then, after a few weeks I calm down and realize I refund money anyway if there is a question, don't like bad customer relations, so what do I have to fear? Last night I went back and added the logo's and put the I Accept Paypal back in my TOS.
Then this morning I get a notice that the X.Com bank account is being closed effective December 1 and will not take deposits after Nov. 20. I will NEVER let Paypal anywhere near my regular bank account so if ATM cards are not coming in the next 30 days I have to go and cancel all this once more!
Anyone know what is going on? When will ATM cards come about? When will we get a notice you guys are closing in 1 week or something else messed up?

Isn't PayPal's parent X.com the company that recently announced $12 per month account fees on checking accounts? And now there closing all checking accounts and shutting down operations?
If they can't handle account management of FDIC-insured and regulated financial transactions, what makes anyone think they are capable, within the definition of fiduciary responsibility, of handling non-FDIC and unregulated transactions?

True. But remember X.com initially offered not only checking accounts but their own online payment service.
They could not make a go of it and bought out PayPal.
So why is anybody surprised at PayPal's current difficulties.

Come on, give him a break! At least he tries to answer questions, and I did ask one.
However, before I got his answer, I emailed Paypal, and they answered me back within an hour but it wasn't much help. The email stated: We do not know when they will become available! If you have any further questions please let me know. I will be happy to be of further assistance.
Also, I'm from Nevada and I believe it is area 51, not 54.
Edited to add:
No matter what I think, and I have tried twice to get rid of Paypal, my customers LOVE them and sales double when I accept them so I will continue to do so. I don't have the problems others have because unlike some threads I have read, I want my customers to be repeats and I always resolve any problems I might have with them immediately. I am lucky in that I mainly deal in craft supplies, and crafters are a great bunch of people. They are polite, pay promptly, and I don't think they would be using stolen credit cards, so I feel 100% safe with Paypal. I just didn't like the addition of fees because most of my sales are under $10 and after 5% to paypal and 10% to Ebay (final value & listing fees on a $5.00 item) that doesn't leave much for me!

The Really Interesting thing here is when PayPal Issues a debit or check card be it visa or master card all seller and buyer have the same rights credit card users have sellers will be able to disput any acrivity through visa or master card they didnt sign a reciept for .
This includes locked funds and accounts
and any unathorized removals of funds by paypal for charge backs by the buyer.
if your visa or mastercard debit or check card shows funds but paypal has all your funds lock frozen this could become interesting.
one thing I am wondering I have never seen debit cards or creditcard issued by a none FDIC insured company or a none bank even your ebay credit card is from a bank Ebay pays to have there logo on the card they are not the issuer of the card.
my wonder is this is there any bank ATM that will pour out cash for funds from a paypal accounts where there are no garentees they will get there funds .
wouldnt it be interesting you use your ATM card it shows $3000 balance ATM machine give you the $300 you asked for then paypal dont pay the bank cause Your funds are frozen, or you use your Debit card as the CC number to pay ebay and the charge for your bill at the beging of the month is rejected.
Or is paypal planing on offering all the services X.com did includeing checking and FDIC insurance. http://www.Dman-N-Company.com

I have been thinking the exact same thing.
Just how is this going to work?
BTW I just had 150 auctions end yesterday and the paypal payments are pouring in. I don't adverstise it boldly. I just state checks, money orders, paypal, billpoint, ccnow, or 1-click(amazon only) 2 said they were just setting up with paypal. (Newbies) Several said they would be mailing checks 3 billpoint. So far paypal has been the popular choice. Weaning them off is not going to be any easy task I see.

Hi Pandoras_Trinkets
I found a subtle way to wean my buyers off PayPal. I mentioned every payment option under the sun first in my EOA -- and buried PayPal at the end of the list.
I've found that most people pick one of the first few options. After I started this, PayPal payments went WAY down quickly. Money orders, checks and Billpoint payments went UP.
I know buyers in other categories can be different. But you might try it to see if it works for you.

vargas: I wasn't quite that subtle. I just told my customers that PayPal was not a payment option because of the fact I've closed my account due to recently imposed charges and PayPal's internal problems. I've not had one customer complaint about it and am getting along very well on ExchangePath and BidPay.
