I guess if this is an honest post here it would mean that paypal has (ABANDONED) its patent and trade mark on its Electronic transfer services and it name PayPal by failing to answer question related to there aplication for patent and trademark.

It's an honest post. The USPTO's trademark database is online.

I ran the PayPal search, too.

The results are here:

I don't think you can assume this means that PayPal abandoned it's trademark. It may very well mean that PayPal's opponent in that particular case abandoned their claim and never responded when taken to court.

I dont think you have to assume anything here the aplication for the trademark and the aplicant the action are againt are the same.

if it was one of PayPal's opponents wouldnt there be two different companys and Attorneys of record mentioned here.

this is not to say that maybe they havent by now applied for another or different patent trademark but this info didnt come up in the search.

What's interesting is that there's no LIVE trademark listed for PayPal.

There's not that much reason to copywrite a trademark. There's more protection than otherwise, but it's not something every company does. Actually I think, not many companies do - it's an expensive procedure.

Trademark protection gives you certain extra rights in the exclusive use of the name and logo - but all artwork is automatically copywrited, so PayPal's logo is protected anyway.

But take a look at the parallel between PayPal and its accountholders, and PayPal and the USPTO.

PayPal has this thing about restricting accounts and then failing to provide any information on that restriction to the accountholder. Accountholders can do nothing to secure access to their funds. Such arrogance.

So then PayPal applies for their trademark. The USPTO sends them a letter on January 10, asking for information. PayPal uses the same arrogant stance and fails to respond. But the USPTO can do something and they do. On September 11 the USPTO pulls trademark protection on "PAYPAL" and declares it abandoned.

Silly PayPal.
