I tried to use the debit card at the gas station today, thought no big deal, I've only used it at the post office, should work here. Well it was DENIED at the pump, so I used my other, not thinking anything about it... I DID have money in there.
Well I just checked and it gave the location of the gas station and it said $75.00!! DENIED!!????????? I was going to fill the tank which would come to about $25! Whats with the $75 denied thing. I hadn't even pumped the gas yet!
So I try to find HELP on the paypal site, and I can't.
After reading the horror stories of accounts
closed, whats UP with this? is my account going to be closed, there still is a POSITIVE amount in there

That's almost definitely not PayPal. The gas station probably pre-auths your card to give you the go-ahead to pump away and then bills the actual amount.
They want to make sure you have enough dough to cover a large amount of gas. Seventy-five bucks is pretty silly.
Tangent, but you're touching on an issue that the banks don't want you to know about - the new MasterCard/Visa debit cards use a lot of credit card procedures that don't work too well with debit accounts.
It's no big deal to have a hold on a credit card that disappears in a day or two but with checking accounts (or money market) this could actually cause you to bounce a check.
